The Galician Institute of High Energy Physics (IGFAE) seeks for interested partners in Industry in submitting a joint application to the recently open call of Industrial Doctorates Program from Xunta de Galicia. All information about the call is available at:

The program consists of an agreement between the IGFAE and an external company or an R&D&I Center with legal address or headquartes in Galicia, and apply together for a PhD student scholarship, with a previously selected candidate, with the aim of boosting the talent and the creation of high quality level employments in our region. If awarded, among other aids, a 3-year industrial PhD contract is funded so that the candidate will develope his or her PhD while working for the company in any industrial or techonlogical development.

The IGFAE
The IGFAE at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC) is a research institute accredited as María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence by the Spanish Ministry of Science. It hosts around 150 researchers, including more than 40 postdocs, 30 PhD students and one ERC grantee. Researchers at IGFAE participate in experimental facilities such as CERN, LIGO, GSI/FAIR and the Pierre Auger Observatory.
The scientific research of the Institute is organized around three areas that are the basis for the strategic planning: The Standard Model to the Limits, Cosmic Particles and Fundamental Physics, and Nuclear Physics from the Lab to improve people’s health. A transversal line has been created recently to discuss the strategy for new opportunities in the field of international facilities. In addition, IGFAE activity is divided into an experimental and a theory section.
