The Standard Model of Particle Physics has been proven successful in describing experimental data at the TeV scale, yet it suffers of shortcomings that point to the existence of New Physics.
Clear indications of such new phenomena are yet to be observed, despite extensive searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and elsewhere. The possibility that such signals involve long-lived particles (LLPs) has led to a plenitude of dedicated experiments being proposed. The status of running and planned LLP experiments is reviewed, giving emphasis to results from LHC experiments, such as MoEDAL and CODEX-b.
