Re: [Indico] Abstract Acceptance notification (#140)
by Ting Lin
Dear Organizers and conveners:
Sorry for this late email. I cannot attend in person. Also, none of my co-authors are available at that time.
I hope this can be made online if possible.
Thanks.

Hi guys,
We rejected abstract 314 by Song, Pire, Lorce. I received
complaints separately from Lorce and Pire asking me to reconsider.
Song's abstract with Kumano was accepted, but Kumano told me that neither
he nor Song can travel. However, Pire says if Song presents their work, he
can be funded by Ecole Polytechnique. But this means Song will give two
in-person talks. I know Song, not a particularly strong researcher,
frankly, and I have a hard time giving him two talks in this competitive
selection. But maybe we can reduce both talks to 15 minutes and also reduce
Pire's and Lorce's other abstracts 343 and 327 to 15 minutes we can
accommodate, since 20x3=15x4?

Thanks for the clarification. In the meantime we got in touch with WG4

Dear DIS-WG5 convenors,
Thank you very much for accepting my abstract. I would like to
present this talk. However, personally I cannot come to Santiago due to
COVID-19 and Visa issues.

Re: abstract submission closed: some considerations
by Qinghua Xu
Dear Nestor,
Just to confirm that the posters will be in person participation only, right? Now there are >30 abstracts not accepted as oral talks in WG5, so we need to check with each whether they will be available for in person poster or not.
Thanks,
Qinghua for WG5

Then, abstracts of any of the involved WGs could contact the conveners of the other WG if they find that an asbtract lies truly in the common interests of both working groups. Common sessions are not a must, btw.

For example, it is 40.6 for WG5, how is that number estimated? Does it include just those with WG5 only (57 in total) or also those with overlaps?
