Re: schedule
by Cridge, Tom
Dear Yulia and WG6,
Thanks for your email, in WG1 we have also now completed our timetable.
As for the joint session we agree that Thursday's 2nd session (the one before lunch) is optimal, this would then overlap with a session in WG1 on theory which should ensure minimal issues of attendees wishing to view both sessions at the same time.
We note you have included two talks from the joint session here (this is assuming the two talks already here for the joint session are your CORE talk and the SIDIS talk which I think is the joint talk 386 merged with your talk 407), however also there are currently two other WG6 talks here which are not relevant for the joint session. We believe there are then 4 remaining talks to be added here that were agreed for this joint session - 344, 361, 67 and 331. In that case the 4 extra talks plus the two you already have (CORE and SIDIS) would make 6 for the joint session which could be fitted here. The two other WG6 talks currently assigned (the two directly after the coffee break currently) may then need to be assigned to other sessions. Please let us know your thoughts on this.
Best,
Tom for WG1 (Tom, Klaus, Barak)

Dear Yulia,
On the slot for the joint session, p[lease tell me when you want it and I will implement it.
Posters will be shown during the reception, Tuesday evening 19.15-21.15. You have to tell me which contributions have been accepted as posters.
On the time slot for the zoom, zoom will be continuously on during the sessions so you can decide. The only thing is the time zone for the speakers but this is up to you.

Dear Nestor,
We (WG6 group ) finished arrangements of talks in our session.
But we have few questions:
1. We do not see a slot for our joint session with WG1 ( CC to WG1 group) - at the moment we selected
last two talks on Thr. as selected for this session.
2. When is a slot for poster session? . Do we have to arrange posters there as well?
3. Also, we combined talks for Zoom-only session which is currently the last session on Wed. Please, let us know if we need to shift it to other day/timeslot.

Could you please correct it to Zhi Hu and let him know what his conference fee will be?

We chrish this opportunity to present our research in the DIS 2022 conference very much. Re: Posters for possible WG4 talks
by Maria Vittoria Garzelli
.....your email is coming a bit late, because yesterday WG4 already
immediately contacted additional persons to fill the "empty" spaces:
some posters were promoted to talks, and some new posters were invited.
So, at the moment there is no empty space neither for talks nor for
posters. It might well be that some poster is cancelled because
people can not or do not want to come. In that case it is possible to
invite some new posters. It is less probable than some talk get
cancelled, but, who knows ? In any case it is early to say, it will be
clearer at a later stage. In case cancellations in the talks occur,
it will be possible to take into account your suggestions. In that case,
you will be promptly informed.
In any case, a convener can not speak (otherwise all people whose
abstracts will be rejected because there is still not enough space for
everybody will become quite angry.....).

Re: [EXTERNAL] Additional session WG1 and WG6
by Yulia Furletova
Dear Tom,
It looks like now it might create some issues with authors of 386 and 407, since both of them already received “accept’ email from DIS2022.
And I’m sure both of them want to present their work and they will complain.
Please, give us few more days, maybe we could keep both. We need to see if we have some extra time in our own session.
Nestor promised to send us exact “time-schedule”
Best, Yulia.

Hi Yulia,
Great, in that case I take it you are happy with that proposed session.
In the case of 386 and 407 you will have to contact Nestor to clone the abstracts so you can merge them and accept the new one in WG6. Similarly, for talks 62, 344, 361, 386 which will have to be converted from posters to talks. However, I have just been contacted by the author of 62 who can no longer attend due to funding issues. Therefore I would suggest to replace it with talk 331 (given we in WG1 have not been assigned any additional talks we would very much appreciate this to give us an extra space). In that case the final list would be
344, 361, 386+407 (407 from WG6 only), 67 (from WG1 only), 331 (from WG1 only) + 415 (from WG6 only).
If you are happy with that please go ahead and organise this session (we will have our own WG1 session to organise simultaneous with this one as Nestor mentioned).
Thanks again,
Tom

I see that 386 is already acceped by WG1, and 407 is already accepted by WG6. So, at this stage it will be impossible to merge via indico. I talked to Anselm, he agrred on this merge , but at this moment it is unclear who will give a talk. Maybe you could discuss again with both of them ( with both speakers).
We will add #415 to this session.

Dear Yulia and WG6 conveners,
Thanks for getting back to us, given a session cannot really be longer than 6 talks in length, we would propose that we take the 4 talks we agree upon that were jointly submitted to our WGs - i.e. 62, 344, 361, 386 (and we are fine for you to merge 407 with this), that leaves two further talks, As we both have lots of talks to consider a fair way to do it then seems for us each to have one talk submitted to our individual WG included here, making up the 6 talks. Please let us know if you agree that this seems a reasonable way to divide this.
In that case we would put talk 67 that we mentioned in here and deal with our talk 331 in our own sessions, please let us know which of your talks (or a merger of two of your talks into one) you would then include.
Thanks again and best regards,
Tom (for WG1 conveners - Tom, Klaus, Barak)

Hi Klaus, all,
We are proposing to keep 407 ( and merge 386 into 407) - we do not have space for both !
62, 344, 361 are fine to us. We propose to add here 407 ( merged with 386)
It would be good if we could squeeze there couple of more talks from WG6- at the moment we are at the overflow.
for example ,
415 - CORE - a Compact Detector for the Electron-Ion Collider
0r 298 - ATHENA – A new detector proposed at the Electron-Ion Collider
84 - The impact of energy frontier DIS measurements on future hadron collider physics (HL-LHC and FCC-hh)
Your thoughts ?

Dear WG6 conveners,
Following Nestor's hard work to obtain an additional room and confirmation we can accept a few additional talks for joint sessions earlier today, we are emailing to return to your idea of a joint session between WG1 and WG6 on future experiments. We would propose to include the following talks in this session (some of which we currently only had room for as posters):
62, 344, 361, 386 and also 331("Studying nuclear matter with jets in the sPHENIX experiment at RHIC") and 67 ("Probing free nucleons with (anti)neutrinos") , the first four were all jointly submitted to our WGs originally whilst the latter two were submitted to WG1 on this topic, therefore I include the titles for those two.
Please let us know if this would work for you and if so/not your comments on this. I would also note that currently in WG1 we are occupying one room for the whole of the timetabled parallel sessions, therefore this additional joint session would be parallel to one of our sessions and in addition to WG6's current sessions I believe. We would organise our timetable to ensure the overlapping topics were not of mutual interest.

Change contribution #54 from poster to talk? (This is a PRL / first measurement)
by Stefan Schmitt
Dear conveners of WG1, WG4 and WG5,
this is Stefan Schmitt for the H1 collaboration. We noted that our
abstract #54 about lepton-jet angular decorrelations has been accepted,
but only as a poster.
We were wondering whether it will be possible to change this to a talk,
given the importance of this result in the field (interplay of
traditional PDFs and TMDs).
It is a first measurement and the first application of a new
experimental method. The paper has been accepted for publication in
PRL (we are in the stage of correcting the proofs), and it has not been
shown at previous editions of DIS. See [arxiv:2108.12376].
For a possible DIS2022 conference oral presentation we were planning to
expand on the PRL results by performing a multi-differential analysis, which
could be valuable input for future TMD fits.
All the best,
Stefan Schmitt for the H1 collaboration
(including the H1 spokespersons and the principal analyzers in CC)

Posters for possible WG4 talks
by Cridge, Tom
Dear Maria and WG4 conveners,
As you will have heard from Nestor yesterday, all WGs except our WG1 are able to accept extra talks. Nestor has therefore encouraged collaboration between WG1 and others to accept further talks. We therefore are emailing to ask if you might be able to consider a couple of abstracts which were submitted jointly to WG1 and WG4 for talks that we had previously accepted only as posters due to space constraints. The abstracts are:
* 110 - Pion and kaon fragmentation functions at next-to-next-to-leading order
* 424 - W+charm associated hadroproduction: relevance of Shower Monte Carlo effects (I believe you are the speaker for this talk so it may make more sense in WG4 in any case?)
We had both down as posters and potential backup talks as we would like to have accepted them. Given you now have several additional spaces for talks, might you be able to consider one or both of these? We would very much appreciate it if you did as it would then allow us to take a further talk, we are very pushed for space given we have not been assigned any further spaces.
Please let us know your thoughts.
Many thanks again,
Tom (for WG1 - Tom, Klaus, Barak)
