miniWorkshop on Direct Reactions
Facultade de Óptica
Santiago de Compostela 19th-20th April 2012
The experimental group of Santiago de Compostela (GENP) organizes a mini Workshop to share ideas between theoreticians and experimentalists about direct reactions. The scope of the meeting is to address the challenges of direct reaction theory to interpret experimental measurements. The workshop is intended to stimulate discussions guided by short contributions and invited talks in order to answer two main questions concerning direct reactions:
- What observables need to be measured to feed the theoretical models?
- What physics can be extracted with the models from the measured observables?

Topics
The topics of the workshop will cover direct reactions channels in low to high energy regimes from the perspective of experimentalists and theorists. A non exhaustive list is the following:
- Knock-out reactions
- Quasi-free scattering
- Unbound systems
- Transfer reactions
- Elastic/Inelastic scatterings
- Charge exchange reactions
The programme will be structured around discussions triggered by invited talks and short presentations. Morning sessions will be dedicated to invited talks on reaction theory, while afternoon sessions will host short presentations detailing the experimental observables and theoretical requirements, and the ensuing discussions.
There will be a series of invited talks with the following topics:
-Knock-out and charge-exchange reactions. Testing the mean field. (José Manuel Udías Moinelo. Universidad Complutense de Madrid)
-Spectroscopy from fully exclusive measurements at QFS kinematical conditions. (Raquel Crespo. Universidade Técnica de Lisboa)
-Two-neutron transfer reactions as a probe of pairing correlations in nuclei. (Gregory Potel. Universidad de Sevilla)
-Structure and reactions of three-body exotic nuclei. (Manuela Rodríguez Gallardo. Universidad de Sevilla)
-The importance of core excitation in the scattering of halo nuclei. (Antonio Moro. Universidad de Sevilla)
-Medium effects on intermediate-energy one-nucleon removal cross sections. (Isaac Vidaña. Universidade de Coimbra)
A tentative programme is proposed:
