The Instituto Galego de Física de Altas Enerxías (IGFAE), a joint centre of the University of Santiago de Compostela and the Xunta de Galicia, will host the meeting “Tech & IT career opportunities at the Europe’s most innovative tech region” on Thursday 15 February from 10:00 to 14:00. The activity is organised by IGFAE’s TechLab, one of the three spaces that contribute to bringing the institute’s research to society and its immediate surroundings. Registration can be done at this link.
Within the framework of this initiative, the Innovation, Knowledge and Technology Transfer Unit of the IGFAE is organising a meeting with Tinus van de Pas, Founder & CEO of TTalent, an agency that offers professional opportunities to young people specialised in information technology. TTalent is based in the Brainport Eindhoven area, located in this Dutch city, which is considered the main technological network in Europe.
The aim of the meeting is to bring IGFAE staff (mainly pre-school and junior students, although it is also open to Physics students), the professional development opportunities that this area can offer.
The conference will be divided into two parts. Firstly, there will be a presentation about the Brainport Eindhoven area, the professional opportunities it offers, the possibility of doing internships and information about the companies that operate in this area, as well as guides and tips to improve CVs and motivation letters. Afterwards, attendees will be able to hold personal interviews with the head of TTalent.
About TechLab and IGFAE Labs
The TechLabs are a series of workshops and exchanges with industry to stimulate collaborative innovation and the exploitation of IGFAE’s knowledge and results, as well as a tool for IGFAE’s research staff to explore professional opportunities in the sector.
TechLab is the space to transfer the results of the research carried out at IGFAE to the economy and society. To ensure that our ideas can also be materialised and applied, we will actively cooperate with different science and research partners, as well as with economic and industrial actors, associations and networks. In addition, we make our scientific and technical know-how and infrastructure available through our research and contract work offer.
The IGFAE Labs are newly created spaces to direct and structure our research towards a more responsible research and innovation (RRI, Responsible Research & Innovation) with society and its immediate surroundings. This strategy of industrial and social commitment divides its activities into laboratories that serve as spaces to discuss new initiatives with external actors and IGFAE collaborators in thematic areas (ArtLab, EduLab and TechLab).
