Dear Nestor,

Thank you and I am sorry that it's somehow become contentious. Would it be possible to add Saad's abstract to indico? Since submission is closed, I am not sure whether we need to add it to the list or can just keep track of things off-line. In case it needs to be added, it's the following:

Title: Accessing GPDs through the exclusive photoproduction of a gamma-meson pair.
Abstract: We consider the exclusive photo-production of a gamma-meson pair, working in the QCD factorisation framework. Explicitly, we consider a rho meson and a charged pion in the final state. This process has a significant advantage over meson production, since it allows us to probe chiral-odd GPDs, which are not well-known experimentally. The computation is performed at leading order and leading twist, and we intend to extend this to ${\cal O}(\alpha_s)$ soon. We discuss the prospects of measuring them in experiments, and in particular focus JLab and LHC (in UPC) kinematics.
Speaker: Saad Nabeebaccus, IJCLab, Paris-Saclay.

Many thanks,
Daria

Dear Daria,

You have full autonomy to decide on the talks in your WG. If I may be of any use, please tell.

Dear Nestor, all,

I understand your point, it also sounds like he didn't handle it very well. It's unfortunate, his postdoc is very good but new to the field so I think that he feels bad for missing the opportunity for him and is trying to find a working group which might still have a slot. Personally, I think the presentation should be very interesting, it's a little known and rather new channel with a lot of potential, so I think it would be good to have its exposure. We had discussed it among our WG and agreed that we could give him a slot -- I then also checked with Yoshi whether they were planning to after new slots opened (Samuel had told us that he had contacted WG5 first but there were no slots). He said they weren't but they could offer a swap if we wanted to have the talk. I don't know how he approached Yoshi, perhaps the request wasn't made in the best way, but I thought his email to us was OK. I think with the extra slots it would still be worth to accept the talk as an exception, as it would otherwise just penalise the postdoc and it wasn't his fault. But Guillaume, Rafał, please say if you don't agree.

Many thanks,
Daria

Dear Daria,

I am sorry - I know Samuel, we were postdocs together at DESY too long ago 😉 -, but in my opinion it cannot be. Samuel already tried with Yoshi Hatta in WG5, and got a no. With the rejection rate that you have had to fulfil and after getting a no from WG5, I honestly find this request a bit outrageous.

If even with these considerations you find the talk a must, I let the decision to you. If you decide to reject it, I may tell Samuel myself if you prefer.

Asunto: Late submission

Hi Nestor,

We had a request for a talk from someone who missed the abstract submission. I know the people and the project well and I think this would be a very interesting talk, we were happy to give a them one of the extra slots which have opened. The postdoc (Saad Nabeebaccus) who would be presenting is new in the field and his adviser (Samuel Wallon) who should have known about DIS in good time is bogged down with high-level admin, so I can see how they could have missed the deadlines.  Can we include their talk? I can forward the abstract Saad sent me by email.

Thanks,
Daria
