By plane

This is the most convenient way to get to Santiago de Compostela. Most probably you will have to come through Madrid, but there are also some international flights directly to Santiago. In particular, Easyjet operates a direct flight from Geneva to Santiago. A bus shuttle (Autobuses Freire) connects the airport to the city centre every half an hour for about 3€. A Taxi trip (~15 min) to any of the hotels of the city has a fixed cost of 21 €.

You can also fly to Oporto (Portugal), located 230km from Santiago de Compostela. However, the train and bus connections are slow.

How to move around

Santiago de Compostela is a small city and you can reach essentially all interesting places just walking. A taxi can be called at any time dialing +34 981569292.
