This year, the IGFAE, the CiMUS, the CiQUS and the CiTIUS will present their research in a completely virtual format and for all audiences through live informative talks, virtual visits, videos of outstanding projects of each center and workshops of Science.<\/p>\n<p>Full details of the event are available here: <a href=\"https:\/\/cienciasingular.usc.es\/\">cienciasingular.usc.es<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Changing the world from the molecular scale<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chemistry is one of the most powerful tools that society has to face the challenges of the 21st century. Every day, the commitment of CiQUS researchers allows exploring new applications in fields such as health (Biological and Medical Chemistry), or industry (Functional Materials, Catalysis). In just nine years, the center has established itself as a benchmark for interdisciplinary research on the border between Chemistry, Biomedicine and Materials Science.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chronic diseases and molecular medicine<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The CiMUS works in the prevention, understanding and treatment of chronic diseases in areas such as Cancer, Endocrinology, Cardiovascular, Neurosciences, Genetics and Bioinformatics, Nanomedicine or Drug Development. Together with the Hospital Cl\u00ednico Universitario de Santiago, the center is integrated into the IDIS, a Health Research Institute accredited by the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Smart technologies, social benefit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CiTIUS researchers are working on the development of a new generation of intelligent technologies that take Artificial Intelligence from the theoretical plane to the real world, allowing its integration in industry and society in a transparent, robust and reliable way. The applications of these technologies cover multiple areas that go from the business fabric to civil security, through health, transport or smart cities \u2013among others-.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IGFAE, in the elite of international research in Physics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Galician Institute of High Energy Physics (IGFAE) is a center accredited as the Mar\u00eda de Maeztu Unit of Excellence whose research areas attempt to answer many of the essential questions of physical nature: the study of microscopic reality at a fundamental level (Standard Model), the connection between particle physics and cosmology, and nuclear structure and medical applications.
