



{"id":5106,"date":"2019-12-18T17:24:10","date_gmt":"2019-12-18T15:24:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/~igfae-old\/?p=5106"},"modified":"2021-03-24T15:08:03","modified_gmt":"2021-03-24T13:08:03","slug":"workshop-introduction-to-quantum-computing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/~igfae-old\/workshop-introduction-to-quantum-computing\/","title":{"rendered":"Workshop: Introduction to Quantum Computing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Quantum Computation<\/strong> is becoming a viable alternative for high complexity problems, too hard to address in classical computation, with or without acceleration.\u00a0 Recently, Google has demonstrated that there are particular problems that can be solved efficiently on a quantum computer, while demanding prohibitively high\u00a0 resources in classical computation.<\/p>\n<p>Quantum Computation represents an important change of paradigm, where the concept of bit gets transformed into a quantum bit, or <strong>qubit<\/strong>, which affords for an enormous information storage and processing capacity. In this course, organized by the Instituto Galego de F\u00edsica de Altas Enerx\u00edas (IGFAE) in collaboration with CESGA (Centro de Supercomputaci\u00f3n de Galicia) the basic concepts of Quantum Computation will be introduced at a conceptual level. An abundant set of exercises will allow to acquire sufficient skill to develop your own quantum algorithms and circuits. The course will take place at IGFAE from 20th to 23rd of January 2020 and is aimed at\u00a0reserchers, teachers, CIT professionals and students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Overview:<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Introduction to the Quantum Computation. Working with one qubit.<br \/>\n&#8211; Multiple qubit.<br \/>\n&#8211; Introduction to the quantum simulator ProjectQ<br \/>\n&#8211; Basic quantum algorithms.<br \/>\n&#8211; Advanced quantum algorithms for quantum computation.
