



{"id":3237,"date":"2019-07-01T10:23:31","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T08:23:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/centrosingular\/novos-resultados-sobre-a-oscilacion-materia-antimateria\/"},"modified":"2021-03-24T15:22:26","modified_gmt":"2021-03-24T13:22:26","slug":"novos-resultados-sobre-a-oscilacion-materia-antimateria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/~igfae-old\/gl\/novos-resultados-sobre-a-oscilacion-materia-antimateria\/","title":{"rendered":"Novos resultados sobre a oscilaci\u00f3n materia-antimateria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A\u00a0 colaboraci\u00f3n internacional do LHCb, un dos sete experimentos do Gran Colisionador de Hadrones (Large\u00a0 Hadron\u00a0 Collider, LHC) do CERN, enviou uns resultados \u00e1 European Physics Journal C o 21 de xu\u00f1o que poder\u00edan proporcionar novas pistas para esclarecer a orixe e a composici\u00f3n da materia escura, as\u00ed como o motivo polo que a materia prevaleceu sobre a\u00a0 antimateria tras o Big Bang: a an\u00e1lise m\u00e1is precisa dunha fase da asimetr\u00eda CP no proceso de desintegraci\u00f3n do mes\u00f3n B<sub>s<\/sub><sup>0<\/sup>. Estas medidas, coordinadas pola investigadora do Instituto Galego de F\u00edsica de Altas Enerx\u00edas (IGFAE) e profesora da USC Veronika\u00a0 Chobanova e\u00a0 Francesca Dordei do <em>Istituto Nazionale dei Fisica Nucleare<\/em> (INFN), supo\u00f1en ademais o \u00faltimo paso antes de realizar a medida final con todos os datos deste experimento.<\/p>\n<p>O mes\u00f3n\u00a0 B<sub>s<\/sub><sup>0<\/sup>, \u00e9 unha part\u00edcula composta principalmente por dous quarks \u2014b,\u00a0 <em>bottom<\/em> e s,\u00a0 <em>strange<\/em>&#8211; que se transforma espontaneamente na s\u00faa propia antipart\u00edcula para despois volver converterse nun mes\u00f3n B<sub>s<\/sub><sup>0<\/sup>. Esta especie de \u201ctic-tac\u201d, motivado pola interacci\u00f3n destes hadrones co campo de Higgs, contin\u00faa ata a s\u00faa desintegraci\u00f3n, e medir as s\u00faas propiedades de transformaci\u00f3n, a frecuencia e fase, pode revelar novos aspectos sobre a composici\u00f3n do devandito campo. Durante ese proceso, prod\u00facese unha asimetr\u00eda no comportamento dalg\u00fans\u00a0 quarks inestables, denominada violaci\u00f3n CP, que explicar\u00eda a discrepancia observada entre a materia e a antimateria. Se ambas foron creadas no inicio do universo por igual coas mesmas propiedades, salvo na s\u00faa carga el\u00e9ctrica, deber\u00edan haberse aniquiliado. Con todo, alg\u00fan fen\u00f3meno a\u00ednda desco\u00f1ecido tivo que ocorrer para que a materia impux\u00e9sese, formando os\u00a0 at\u00f3mos que compo\u00f1en todo o que existe ao noso ao redor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A an\u00e1lise m\u00e1is rigorosa e consistente co Modelo Est\u00e1ndar <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Para obter estes novos resultados da asimetr\u00eda CP no proceso de desintegraci\u00f3n do mes\u00f3n\u00a0 B<sub>s<\/sub><sup>0<\/sup>, combin\u00e1ronse datos do segundo ciclo de funcionamento (Run 2) do LHC en 2015 e 2016 con medidas anteriores de leste mesmo tipo de desintegraci\u00f3n e outras relacionadas, obtendo, nun \u00fanico experimento, o valor m\u00e1is rigoroso ata a data consistente con prediciones do Modelo Est\u00e1ndar e an\u00e1lises previas do LHCb.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEstudar estas oscilaci\u00f3ns quark-antiquark tam\u00e9n prov\u00e9 de informaci\u00f3n sobre a posible existencia de novas part\u00edculas, como as supersim\u00e9tricas\u201d, explica o investigador do IGFAE e do programa\u00a0 Oportunius da Xunta Diego Mart\u00ednez Santos, quen tam\u00e9n asina este traballo grazas \u00e1 <em>Starting Grant<\/em> do Consello Europeo de Investigaci\u00f3n (ERC) obtida en 2015 pola que regresou a Galicia para formar o seu equipo. A este sumouse Veronika en 2015 e Miriam Lucio Mart\u00ednez, agora investigadora posdoutoral no <em>National Institute for Subatomic Physics<\/em> (NIKHEF), en Pa\u00edses Baixos.
