Nel produc\u00edronse colisi\u00f3ns prot\u00f3n-prot\u00f3n desde 2009 (nas Carreiras I e II de LHC), e a\u00ednda se espera continuar a recopilar datos nos pr\u00f3ximos 15 a 20 anos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead\">Este proxecto, situado nunha gran caverna subterr\u00e1nea, a uns 100 metros de profundidade, o proxecto involucra a 1.400 personas, entre cient\u00edficas, enxe\u00f1eiras e t\u00e9cnicas, que pertencen a 86 instituci\u00f3ns de 18 pa\u00edses (cifras de xaneiro de 2021).<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead\">O LHCb \u00e9 un espectr\u00f3metro avanzado cuxa aceptaci\u00f3n e caracter\u00edsticas espec\u00edficas fano moi diferente e complementario ao resto dos experimentos do LHC. As s\u00faas principais actividades na actualidade incl\u00faen o estudo da violaci\u00f3n CP, e procesos que poden violar o n\u00famero lept\u00f3nico.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead\">O experimento LHCb (as siglas de Large Hadron Collider beauty), foi dese\u00f1ado principalmente para realizar medici\u00f3ns precisas dos elementos da matriz de mestura de quarks, especialmente as fases entre a segunda e a terceira xeraci\u00f3n. Estes est\u00e1n intimamente relacionados coa presenza de violaci\u00f3n CP na natureza, e poder\u00edan ser esenciais para explicar as asimetr\u00edas da luz entre materia e antimateria, que explican por que o noso universo actual est\u00e1 composto pola primeira e non pola segunda. O experimento tam\u00e9n ten como obxectivo explorar desintegraci\u00f3ns altamente suprimidas de mes\u00f3ns pesados no Modelo Est\u00e1ndar, como Bs \u2192 \u03bc\u03bc. Nos \u00faltimos anos, LHCb ampliou substancialmente o seu alcance f\u00edsico con novas metodolox\u00edas de an\u00e1lise e hoxe en d\u00eda p\u00f3dese considerar un detector do LHC de prop\u00f3sito xeral. Os exemplos disto incl\u00faen f\u00edsica superior e EW, ou as procuras directas de part\u00edculas BSM.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead\">A xeometr\u00eda \u00fanica e a versatilidade do detector LHCb demostraron ter un gran valor para levar a cabo estudos en f\u00edsica de i\u00f3ns pesados. O obxectivo principal desta rama da f\u00edsica \u00e9 investigar e caracterizar a materia que interact\u00faa fortemente a trav\u00e9s dun espectro de densidades de enerx\u00eda, que van desde pequenas a extremas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead\">A capacidade de LHCb para detectar colisi\u00f3ns de obxectivo fixo (facilitadas ao inxectar gases preto da \u00e1rea de interacci\u00f3n da configuraci\u00f3n de LHCb), as\u00ed como os choques prot\u00f3n-chumbo e chumbo-chumbo, \u00e9 particularmente notable e \u00fanica no Large Hadron Collider. Dentro do grupo LHCb-IFT (Ion and Fix Target) do IGFAE est\u00e1n a levarse a cabo esforzos para explorar as colisi\u00f3ns prot\u00f3n-chumbo. Esta investigaci\u00f3n ten como obxectivo obter unha comprensi\u00f3n m\u00e1is profunda das Funci\u00f3ns de Distribuci\u00f3n de Part\u00f3ns nucleares, analizar o comportamento colectivo das part\u00edculas que se producen e esclarecer o fen\u00f3meno de reforzo da estra\u00f1eza.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead\">Estas an\u00e1lises son clave para establecer un punto de referencia s\u00f3lido que caracterice o plasma de quarks e glu\u00f3ns, un novo estado da materia que se cre que existiu uns microsegundos despois do Big-Bang. Ao afondar nas complexidades das colisi\u00f3ns prot\u00f3n-chumbo, o grupo LHCb-IFT est\u00e1 a contribu\u00edr de maneira significativa a desentra\u00f1ar os misterios que rodean esta fase \u00fanica do Universo primitivo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead\">O LHCb ten 21 m de lonxitude, 10 m de alto e 13 m de ancho, e o grupo IGFAE LHCb asumiu unha responsabilidade significativa na s\u00faa construci\u00f3n. En particular, estivo a cargo da montaxe e instalaci\u00f3n do Inner Tracker, un dispositivo de m\u00e1is de 200.000 canles electr\u00f3nicas que rodea o tubo do feixe do LHC e proporciona medici\u00f3ns precisas das pistas de desintegraci\u00f3n do quark.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead\">Durante o per\u00edodo 2019-2020, o detector LHCb foi sometido a unha actualizaci\u00f3n completa, que mellorou de maneira moi significativa o alcance f\u00edsico do experimento. Desde ent\u00f3n, o detector pode lerse completamente a 40 MHz e xa \u00e9 capaz de xestionar luminosidades moito m\u00e1is altas, o que comezar\u00e1 a achegar estat\u00edsticas moito m\u00e1is altas en varias canles clave. O grupo do IGFAE est\u00e1 actualmente involucrado na actualizaci\u00f3n do detector de localizaci\u00f3n de v\u00e9rtices, crucial para detectar con precisi\u00f3n a posici\u00f3n de desintegraci\u00f3n dos mes\u00f3ns B e os hadr\u00f3ns. Para esta actualizaci\u00f3n, cambiarase a tecnolox\u00eda do detector, utilizando p\u00edxeles en lugar de tiras, o que implica unha serie de desaf\u00edos t\u00e9cnicos importantes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead\">Outra necesidade importante de completar os obxectivos de f\u00edsica do LHCb \u00e9 a gran cantidade de recursos de computaci\u00f3n que precisa. En particular, o IGFAE aloxa un centro de segundo nivel (ou Tier 2) do sistema de computaci\u00f3n global de LHCb. Actualmente, este centro, situado nas instalaci\u00f3ns de IGFAE, ofrece unha potencia de c\u00e1lculo de aproximadamente 10 kHS06 a trav\u00e9s de 84 servidores de diversas caracter\u00edsticas que proporcionan aproximadamente 1036 n\u00facleos de procesador e contrib\u00fae ao 6% das necesidades globais de LHCb.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lhcb.web.cern.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">M\u00e1is informaci\u00f3n dispo\u00f1ible na p\u00e1xina web de LHCb.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row full_width=&#8221;stretch_row&#8221;
