La publicaci\u00f3n abre <\/em>su n\u00famero de marzo con este trabajo y la <em>American Physical Society<\/em> publica en su revista <em>Physics<\/em> un <a href=\"https:\/\/physics.aps.org\/synopsis-for\/10.1103\/PhysRevE.101.032301\">resumen divulgativo<\/a> del art\u00edculo conjuntamente con los seleccionados de otras publicaciones.<\/p>\n<p>En la investigaci\u00f3n se estudia c\u00f3mo se puede impedir la propagaci\u00f3n de la infecci\u00f3n del pat\u00f3geno Phytophora que ataca diversas plantas y \u00e1rboles, como chiles, aguacates, patatas, casta\u00f1os y eucaliptos. Los investigadores describen una plantaci\u00f3n como una red 2D y modelan la transmisi\u00f3n de la enfermedad como un proceso de filtraci\u00f3n. Luego, estudian c\u00f3mo se mueve el pat\u00f3geno a trav\u00e9s de la red en funci\u00f3n de la proporci\u00f3n inicial de la infecci\u00f3n en el suelo y en las plantas, as\u00ed como la susceptibilidad de cada especie en cada situaci\u00f3n. As\u00ed, se puede calcular el n\u00famero m\u00ednimo de barreras f\u00edsica o biol\u00f3gicas necesarias para impedir la propagaci\u00f3n a toda la plantaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Las barreras normalmente usadas son membranas impermeables de polietureno o zanjas con agentes biol\u00f3gicos de control. Para el c\u00e1lculo se construyeron algoritmos basados en la teor\u00eda de percolaci\u00f3n que fue aplicada intensivamente en el IGFAE a problemas de F\u00edsica de Part\u00edculas como la liberaci\u00f3n de los quarks y glones de dentro de las part\u00edculas elementales que son producidas en las colisiones de n\u00facleos pesados.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Referencia:<\/strong> J.
