Students will be introduced to cosmic ray physics and some of its research techniques through seminars on different topics. Participants will develop and present a practical work at the end of the course. Professors of the Galician Institute of High Energy Physics (IGFAE) and USC, along with other experts from CiTIUS (USC) and the University of A Coru\u00f1a, collaborate in the campus.<\/p>\n<p>Aimed at undergraduated students in Physics, participants will have an approximation to these jets of very high-energy subatomic particles accelerated at speeds close to those of light and whose origin is not entirely clear. One of the methods proposed for its study are the TRASGO type detectors (TRAck reconStructinG mOdule), such as the one located in the Faculty of Physics of the USC, in addition to the one that will be sent to the Antarctic at the end of the year and others that are in construction phase.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Content:<\/strong> introduction to cosmic rays, particle detectors, simulation methods, neural networks, virtual reality and databases, among others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Duration:<\/strong> 2 weeks. From July 8 to 19, 2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Location:<\/strong> 126 seminar room of the Faculty of Physics, University of Santiago de Compostela (Campus Sur). Conference schedule for the first week: from 11 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Participants:<\/strong> 6 vacancies recommended for undergraduated students in Physics with at least 120 credits passed. 2 credits of free configuration will be recognized.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Application period:<\/strong> from June 17 to 19.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Information and registration:<\/strong> Prof. Juan A.
