Este laboratorio experimental, situado na Michigan State University, \u00e9 unha das instalaci\u00f3ns de referencia mundial en f\u00edsica nuclear.<\/p>\n<p>O investigador do IGFAE foi un dos dous seleccionados no programa <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/frib.msu.edu\/news\/2024\/visiting-scholar-winners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Visiting Scholar for Experimental Science<\/a>,<\/strong> que ten como obxectivo animar e axudar ao persoal cient\u00edfico novo a desenvolver un programa de investigaci\u00f3n neste laboratorio. Para iso, o premio financia estad\u00edas nas s\u00faas dependencias a persoas de reco\u00f1ecida traxectoria, cuxas li\u00f1as de traballo te\u00f1en un impacto potencial no programa cient\u00edfico do FRIB.<\/p>\n<p>Diante deste reco\u00f1ecemento, Yassid destaca que \u201co FRIB ofrece unha contorna ideal e \u00fanica para desenvolver e facer realidade ideas que inicialmente poden parecer complexas\u201d. Yassid Ayyad \u00e9 doutor en f\u00edsica nuclear pola Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, e antes de incorporarse ao IGFAE, foi f\u00edsico de sistemas detectores no FRIB.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Estudo da estrutura de n\u00facleos ex\u00f3ticos<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Durante os pr\u00f3ximos meses, o cient\u00edfico avanzar\u00e1 na s\u00faa li\u00f1a de investigaci\u00f3n sobre a estrutura de n\u00facleos ex\u00f3ticos, utilizando o espectr\u00f3metro SOLARIS (SOLenoid Apparatus for ReactIon Studies). Ayyad ten previsto desenvolver un branco activo para gases raros como o tritio ou o helio-3, e traballar nunha c\u00e1mara \u00f3ptica de proxecci\u00f3n temporal de brancos activos (AT-TPC) en colaboraci\u00f3n co FRIB.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A tecnolox\u00eda que desenvolvemos para investigar a natureza da materia nuclear ten moitas aplicaci\u00f3ns sociais en diversos campos\u201d, destaca. &#8220;Por exemplo, os nosos co\u00f1ecementos actuais sobre como interact\u00faan e se reorganizan os prot\u00f3ns e neutr\u00f3ns poden ter un forte impacto nas comunicaci\u00f3ns cu\u00e1nticas, un campo que est\u00e1 a vivir a s\u00faa segunda revoluci\u00f3n&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;O FRIB desempe\u00f1ar\u00e1 un papel fundamental ao proporcionar os n\u00facleos m\u00e1is ex\u00f3ticos que podemos producir nun laboratorio&#8221;, afirma Ayyad. &#8220;Un dos principais obxectivos \u00e9 reforzar as capacidades de SOLARIS para levar a cabo experimentos que s\u00f3 poden realizarse no FRIB grazas \u00e1 colaboraci\u00f3n co laboratorio detector do FRIB, que achega co\u00f1ecementos e ferramentas esenciais&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Comprender o n\u00facleo at\u00f3mico para contribu\u00edr \u00e1 sociedade<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Segundo explica o investigador do IGFAE, un dos obxectivos primordiais da f\u00edsica nuclear moderna \u00e9 comprender as intrincadas interacci\u00f3ns entre neutr\u00f3ns e prot\u00f3ns en condici\u00f3ns extremas e ao l\u00edmite da estabilidade\u201d. Nestas situaci\u00f3ns, un exceso de prot\u00f3ns ou neutr\u00f3ns d\u00e1 lugar \u00e1 aparici\u00f3n de fen\u00f3menos notables non habituais na materia nuclear estable.<\/p>\n<p>O FRIB desempe\u00f1a un papel fundamental para o estudo destas condici\u00f3ns extremas, xa que as s\u00faas instalaci\u00f3ns permiten xerar os n\u00facleos m\u00e1is ex\u00f3ticos que se poden xerar nun laboratorio. Entre eles, alg\u00fans produciranse con moi baixa intensidade, un dominio no que destaca SOLARIS, no que traballar\u00e1 Yassid Ayyad: \u201cA capacidade de levar a cabo experimentos eficientes coas especies m\u00e1is ex\u00f3ticas serve como porta de entrada directa a fen\u00f3menos apaixonantes e inobservados dentro de n\u00facleos altamente desequilibrados\u201d, engade.<\/p>\n<p>O estudo da materia nestas condici\u00f3ns ofrece un gran rango de aplicaci\u00f3ns sociais, en \u00e1mbitos tan diversos como a medicina, a industria ou as telecomunicaci\u00f3ns. No caso da investigaci\u00f3n desenvolvida por Yassid Ayyad e os seus colaboradores no IGFAE, os detectores usados nos seus experimentos impulsaron o<a href=\"https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/igfaedb\/gl\/nace-neutron-insights-unha-empresa-spin-off-da-usc-para-ver-o-que-os-raios-x-non-poden-ver\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> nacemento de <strong>Neutron Insights<\/strong>,<\/a> unha spin-off do Instituto que prestar\u00e1 servizos de radiograf\u00eda con neutr\u00f3ns para aplicaci\u00f3ns
