Durante la ma\u00f1ana tambi\u00e9n se reuni\u00f3 con el rector de la USC, Antonio L\u00f3pez, y el vicerrector de Pol\u00edtica Cient\u00edfica, Vicente P\u00e9rez Mu\u00f1uzuri, para firmar el Libro de Honra de la USC.<\/p>\n<p>Tatsuya Nakada, profesor en la U. Lausanne, (Suiza), es uno de los mayores expertos en experimentos de f\u00edsica de part\u00edculas del mundo desde que en los a\u00f1os 70 llegara al CERN para realizar su tesis doctoral y participar en la construcci\u00f3n del primer colisionador prot\u00f3n-prot\u00f3n, el ISR, que prepar\u00f3 el camino para construir aceleradores posteriores como el LHC. Dirigi\u00f3 el experimento LHCb del CERN, uno de los experimentos principales del LHC desde su primera propuesta en 1995 hasta el final de su construcci\u00f3n en 2008, siendo considerado el \u00abpadre\u00bb de esta gran colaboraci\u00f3n internacional que hoy consta de m\u00e1s de 1000 f\u00edsicos y f\u00edsicas. Jug\u00f3 adem\u00e1s un papel importante en promover la participaci\u00f3n de la USC en el LHCb desde el inicio de la propuesta, cuando comenz\u00f3 a colaborar con Adeva. En la consecuci\u00f3n de dicho experimento el IGFAE-USC tuvo una participaci\u00f3n importante construyendo el <em>Silicon Tracker<\/em>, un detector de silicio para reconstruir las trayectorias de las part\u00edculas.<\/p>\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de dirigir el LHCb durante\u00a0casi 15 a\u00f1os, presidi\u00f3 el Comit\u00e9 Europeo de Aceleradores del Futuro, que establece los objetivos y prioridades para desarrollar los aceleradores de part\u00edculas en Europa durante los pr\u00f3ximos 50 a\u00f1os, y en la actualidad dirige al equipo internacional para el estudio del <em>International Linear Collider<\/em> (ILC), propuesto por el gobierno de Jap\u00f3n, que es uno de los aceleradores que se barajan para el futuro, junto con la propuesta del propio CERN.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Una tesis que pone a prueba el Modelo Est\u00e1ndar <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La tesis doctoral presentada hoy y en la que Nakada fue presidente del tribunal consiste en unas medidas de enorme precisi\u00f3n del \u00e1ngulo de oscilaci\u00f3n materia-antimateria del mes\u00f3n pesado B, realizadas por el investigador predoctoral Marcos Romero Lamas bajo la direcci\u00f3n de Veronika Chobanova y Diego Mart\u00ednez. Estas medidas constituyen uno de los objetivos principales del experimento LHCb en su conjunto y son las m\u00e1s precisas del mundo hasta la fecha, poniendo a prueba la validez del Modelo Est\u00e1ndar de la f\u00edsica de part\u00edculas.
