{"id":9350,"date":"2021-06-22T11:07:11","date_gmt":"2021-06-22T09:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/igfae-ber\/proyecto-care-detector-radon\/"},"modified":"2024-12-26T11:12:35","modified_gmt":"2024-12-26T10:12:35","slug":"proyecto-care-detector-radon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/igfae\/proyecto-care-detector-radon\/","title":{"rendered":"O IGFAE participa no desenvolvemento dun dispositivo port\u00e1til para a detecci\u00f3n automatizada de radon"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n interdisciplinar con participaci\u00f3n do IGFAE creou un prototipo para a detecci\u00f3n de gas radon, un sistema modular para monitorar e controlar a concentraci\u00f3n de radon en contornas pechadas, de forma autom\u00e1tica e a distancia.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>O gas radon \u00e9 a maior fonte de exposici\u00f3n a radiaci\u00f3n natural en humanos e causa entre o 3 e o 14% dos casos de cancro de pulm\u00f3n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>O Instituto Galego de F\u00edsica de Altas Enerx\u00edas (IGFAE) da USC colaborou no dese\u00f1o e desenvolvemento dun prototipo para a detecci\u00f3n de gas radon en edificaci\u00f3ns. Consiste nun pequeno dispositivo que se conectar\u00eda a unha rede sen f\u00edos e que controlar\u00eda, de forma autom\u00e1tica, a concentraci\u00f3n de radon na s\u00faa contorna. Este sistema de detecci\u00f3n cont\u00e9n no seu interior un sensor de silicio fabricado no Instituto de Microelectr\u00f3nica de Barcelona (IMB-CNM-CSIC).<\/p>\n<p>O prototipo, a\u00ednda en fase de estandarizaci\u00f3n, \u00e9 o resultado do proxecto CARE, onde se cubriron as fases de dese\u00f1o e fabricaci\u00f3n dun detector intelixente para o control da concentraci\u00f3n de gas radon. A iniciativa contou coa participaci\u00f3n de dous centros p\u00fablicos de investigaci\u00f3n, o IGFAE e o IMB- CNM-CSIC, e de catro empresas, Alivaba Systems, ATI Sistemas SL, Radiansa Consulting SL, Sensing &amp; Control Systems SL.<\/p>\n<p>Tr\u00e1tase dun detector port\u00e1til que proporcionar\u00e1 a medici\u00f3n real e peri\u00f3dica a trav\u00e9s da rede sen f\u00edos \u00e1 que estea conectado. O equipo desenvolveu un sensor semiconductor para a detecci\u00f3n dos elementos radioactivos xerados durante a desintegraci\u00f3n do radon e un sistema de control capaz de proporcionar medidas de concentraci\u00f3n do gas con frecuencias inferiores \u00e1 media hora. Esta \u00e9 a principal novidade. \u201cA maior\u00eda dos detectores comerciais o que fan \u00e9 promediar a concentraci\u00f3n de radon rexistrada nas 24\/48 horas precedentes\u201d, indica Dolores Cortina, coordinadora do proxecto no IGFAE. \u201cPara iso, foi clave a implementaci\u00f3n dun algoritmo adecuado \u00e1s altas capacidades do sensor desenvolvido, permitindo combinar rapidez e fiabilidade na medida\u201d, engade. Na s\u00faa implementaci\u00f3n, tam\u00e9n se creou un sistema que permite xestionar a informaci\u00f3n proporcionada polo monitor, as\u00ed como un mecanismo intelixente para actuar sobre unha instalaci\u00f3n de ventilaci\u00f3n en funci\u00f3n das concentraci\u00f3ns de radon medidas.<\/p>\n<p>O IGFAE participou activamente no dese\u00f1o conceptual do sensor e tam\u00e9n foi responsable da realizaci\u00f3n das probas de calibraci\u00f3n e validaci\u00f3n, tanto nas s\u00faas instalaci\u00f3ns experimentais como en contornas reais. Neste traballo participaron os investigadores Jos\u00e9 Benlliure, Juan Jos\u00e9 Llerena e Dolores Cortina. O seguinte reto ser\u00e1 fabricar unha serie limitada de sistemas de detecci\u00f3n de radon para a transferencia comercial do sistema.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lecturas m\u00e1is fiables respecto a os sistemas existentes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O dispositivo proporciona a capacidade de integrarse nunha rede de detecci\u00f3n distribu\u00edda dentro dos edificios para estudar, identificando con precisi\u00f3n as posibles zonas de risco para poder tomar medidas de correcci\u00f3n al\u00ed onde sexa necesario. \u00c9 unha monitoraxe en tempo real, que permite a mitigaci\u00f3n activa e din\u00e1mica da presenza de radon en interiores.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCumprimos o noso obxectivo de obter un detector r\u00e1pido, eficiente e econ\u00f3mico. Este novo sensor \u00e9, sen d\u00fabida, un avance importante na detecci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida de gas radon en interiores. Entre outras moitas aplicaci\u00f3ns, o seu uso ser\u00e1 clave para a implantaci\u00f3n de sistemas de mitigaci\u00f3n da presenza de radon en interiores. Permitir\u00e1 actuar en tempo real sobre sistemas de ventilaci\u00f3n, controlando o seu funcionamento de maneira activa e selectiva, reducindo desta maneira a acumulaci\u00f3n de radon en interiores de forma inmediata\u201d, sinala Dolores Cortina.<\/p>\n<p><strong>O radon: un gas de orixe natural e en grandes concentraci\u00f3ns no oeste peninsular<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O radon \u00e9 un gas radioactivo de orixe natural que se pode atopar nos espazos interiores de edificios. \u00c9 tam\u00e9n a maior fonte de exposici\u00f3n a radiaci\u00f3n natural en humanos. A Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial da Sa\u00fade (OMS) estima que dun 3 a un 14% dos casos de cancro de pulm\u00f3n p\u00f3dense atribu\u00edr ao radon en funci\u00f3n da s\u00faa concentraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Segundo unha cartograf\u00eda do Consello de Seguridade Nuclear, a xeolox\u00eda de lugares como Galicia, Estremadura ou as provincias de Barcelona e Xirona propicia a presenza de gas radon en interiores, a\u00ednda que o gas p\u00f3dese atopar en todos os edificios. A concentraci\u00f3n consid\u00e9rase significativa cando \u00e9 superior a 300 Bq\/m3 (bequerelios por metro c\u00fabico, unidade para medir a frecuencia de desintegraci\u00f3n dun n\u00facleo radioactivo) segundo rec\u00f3llese na Directiva 2013\/59\/EURATOM do Consello que define as normas de seguridade b\u00e1sicas para a protecci\u00f3n contra os perigos derivados da exposici\u00f3n a radiaci\u00f3ns ionizantes. O novo C\u00f3digo T\u00e9cnico da Edificaci\u00f3n (RD 732\/2019 do 20 de decembro) d\u00e1 cumprimento a esta Directiva e gu\u00eda a adopci\u00f3n de medidas para limitar a entrada do radon nos edificios.<\/p>\n<p><strong>O Laboratorio de An\u00e1lise das Radiaci\u00f3ns (LAR)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O Laboratorio de An\u00e1lise de Radiaci\u00f3ns (LAR), \u00e9 un laboratorio do IGFAE destinado ao estudo da detecci\u00f3n de radioactividade en mostras ambientais e, en particular, no dese\u00f1o de sistemas de detecci\u00f3n e protocolos de medida de gas radon en interiores. O equipo que o xestiona, con m\u00e1is de 20 anos de experiencia, est\u00e1 formado por investigadores do IGFAE especializados na detecci\u00f3n de radiaci\u00f3ns ionizantes.<\/p>\n<p>O laboratorio est\u00e1 equipado cos m\u00e1is sofisticados equipos de medida de radiaci\u00f3ns ionizantes e est\u00e1 suxeito a un sistema de xesti\u00f3n da calidade baseado na norma ISO 9001:2015, certificado pola empresa AENOR. O alcance da certificaci\u00f3n \u00e9 \u201cDese\u00f1o e realizaci\u00f3n de an\u00e1lise de radioactividade ambiental en matrices l\u00edquidas e gasosas\u201d. Actualmente est\u00e1 en proceso de acreditaci\u00f3n para a norma ISO 17025 con alcance \u201cDeterminaci\u00f3n de 222Rn en aire con detectores r\u00e1pidos e medidas en continuo\u201d. Os protocolos e t\u00e9cnicas de medida da concentraci\u00f3n de radon en interiores desenvoltas polo LAR foron transferidas \u00e1 empresa de base tecnol\u00f3xica INTERA S.L, participada pola USC.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desenvolvemento dun sistema de control autom\u00e1tico da concentraci\u00f3n de radon en edificios<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O proxecto CARE (Desenvolvemento dun sistema de control autom\u00e1tico da concentraci\u00f3n de radon en edificios) foi financiado polo Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovaci\u00f3n na Convocatoria de Retos de Colaboraci\u00f3n de 2016 (RTC-2016-5627-1).
