{"id":8154,"date":"2020-10-29T11:58:38","date_gmt":"2020-10-29T10:58:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/igfae-ber\/nuevas-detecciones-en-el-catalogo-actualizado-de-ondas-gravitacionales-de-ligo-y-virgo\/"},"modified":"2024-04-12T14:23:03","modified_gmt":"2024-04-12T12:23:03","slug":"novas-deteccions-catalogo-actualizado-de-ondas-gravitacionais-de-ligo-e-virgo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/igfae\/novas-deteccions-catalogo-actualizado-de-ondas-gravitacionais-de-ligo-e-virgo\/","title":{"rendered":"Novas detecci\u00f3ns no cat\u00e1logo actualizado de ondas  gravitacionais de LIGO e Virgo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Despois de varios meses de an\u00e1lise exhaustiva, a <strong>Colaboraci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica LIGO<\/strong>, na que participa o Instituto\u00a0 Galego de F\u00edsica de Altas\u00a0 Enerx\u00edas (IGFAE) \u2012centro mixto da Universidade de Santiago (USC) e a Xunta de Galicia\u2012 e a Colaboraci\u00f3n Virgo publican hoxe un cat\u00e1logo actualizado de detecci\u00f3ns de ondas gravitacionais. O cat\u00e1logo cont\u00e9n 39 novos sinais de buracos negros ou colisi\u00f3ns de estrelas de neutr\u00f3ns detectadas entre o 1 de abril e o 1 de outubro de 2019, o que triplica o n\u00famero de detecci\u00f3ns confirmadas. O novo conxunto incl\u00fae alg\u00fans dos sistemas m\u00e1is interesantes detectados ata o de agora e permite estudos cualitativamente novos de poboaci\u00f3ns astrof\u00edsicas e f\u00edsica fundamental.<\/p>\n<p>O incremento de detecci\u00f3ns foi posible grazas a importantes melloras nos instrumentos con respecto a per\u00edodos de observaci\u00f3n anteriores. Estas inclu\u00edron unha maior potencia l\u00e1ser, espellos mellorados e, extraordinariamente, o uso de tecnolox\u00eda de compresi\u00f3n\u00a0 cu\u00e1ntica. Todo iso resultou nunha mellora dun 60% no rango en que se poden detectar os sinais. Os detectores tam\u00e9n puideron operar con menos interrupci\u00f3ns que no pasado, mellorando o ciclo de traballo dun 60% a un 75% aproximadamente.<\/p>\n<p>Con todas estes novos sinais, podemos empezar a comprender mellor as poboaci\u00f3ns de buracos negros e estrelas de neutr\u00f3ns. Ao analizar simultaneamente a poboaci\u00f3n completa de fusi\u00f3ns binarias de buracos negros, p\u00f3dese extraer moita m\u00e1is informaci\u00f3n astrof\u00edsica como, por exemplo, que a distribuci\u00f3n de masas de buracos negros non segue unha distribuci\u00f3n simple de lei de potencias. Medir as desviaci\u00f3ns desta lei de enerx\u00eda permitir\u00e1 co\u00f1ecer a formaci\u00f3n destes buracos negros, xa sexa como resultado de mortes estelares ou colisi\u00f3ns previas. Considerar a toda a poboaci\u00f3n de obxectos tam\u00e9n permite facer medici\u00f3ns m\u00e1is s\u00f3lidas de propiedades dif\u00edciles de calcular, como o xiro dos buracos negros. Atopouse que alg\u00fans buracos negros fusionados te\u00f1en espines que est\u00e1n desalineados co seu momento angular orbital. Isto permitir\u00e1 probar os r\u00e9ximes nos que se formaron estes sistemas binarios.<\/p>\n<p>Tam\u00e9n se poden utilizar os numerosos sinais deste cat\u00e1logo para po\u00f1er a proba a teor\u00eda da gravidade de Einstein de m\u00e1is e mellores formas que antes. Isto f\u00edxose comparando os datos coas predici\u00f3ns da teor\u00eda e limitando as posibles desviaci\u00f3ns. Os resultados de m\u00faltiples sinais combin\u00e1ronse utilizando novos m\u00e9todos estat\u00edsticos para obter as restrici\u00f3ns m\u00e1is precisas ata o de agora sobre as propiedades da gravidade no r\u00e9xime forte e altamente din\u00e1mico de fusi\u00f3ns de buracos negros. LIGO e Virgo tam\u00e9n puideron estudar directamente as propiedades dos obxectos remanentes producidos durante as fusi\u00f3ns: medindo as vibraci\u00f3ns destes obxectos e descartando posibles \u201cecos\u201d despois dos sinais principais, confirmaron que os remanentes se comportan tal e como predicir a teor\u00eda de Einstein acerca dos buracos negros.<\/p>\n<p>Os resultados que se presentan hoxe no novo cat\u00e1logo corresponden aos 6 primeiros meses do terceiro per\u00edodo de observaci\u00f3n (O3a) de LIGO e Virgo e agora estanse analizando os resultados dos 5 meses restantes.
