{"id":5049,"date":"2019-12-04T10:50:12","date_gmt":"2019-12-04T09:50:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/igfae-ber\/?p=5049"},"modified":"2024-04-12T14:22:47","modified_gmt":"2024-04-12T12:22:47","slug":"califa-instalado-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/igfae\/califa-instalado-fair\/","title":{"rendered":"CALIFA xa est\u00e1 instalado en FAIR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Este detector, cuxo dese\u00f1o e construci\u00f3n foi liderado polo Instituto Galego de F\u00edsica de Altas Enerx\u00edas (IGFAE), estudar\u00e1 a estrutura de n\u00facleos at\u00f3micos \u201cex\u00f3ticos\u201d no laboratorio de investigaci\u00f3n nuclear FAIR, unha das infraestruturas cient\u00edficas estrat\u00e9xicas da Comisi\u00f3n Europea. No dese\u00f1o e construci\u00f3n da estrutura mec\u00e1nica de CALIFA tam\u00e9n participou a Universidade de Vigo e varias empresas galegas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CALIFA<\/strong> xa est\u00e1 instalado no experimento R3B do acelerador <strong>FAIR<\/strong>, en Darmstadt (Alema\u00f1a), unha das instalaci\u00f3ns cient\u00edficas europeas de referencia en f\u00edsica nuclear. Tras finalizarse o seu dese\u00f1o e construci\u00f3n, a posta en marcha de CALIFA permitir\u00e1 realizar experimentos de precisi\u00f3n aproveitando as vantaxes dos primeiros feixes de i\u00f3ns acelerados en FAIR. Con eles, estudarase a <strong>estrutura e din\u00e1mica de n\u00facleos at\u00f3micos inestables ou ex\u00f3ticos<\/strong> a partir de 2020.<\/p>\n<p>O IGFAE participa desde fai m\u00e1is dunha d\u00e9cada na <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsi.de\/work\/forschung\/nustarenna\/nustarenna_divisions\/kernreaktionen\/activities\/r3b.htm\">colaboraci\u00f3n R3B<\/a> <em>(Reactions with Relativistic Radioactive Beams), <\/em>formada por 230 persoas de 15 pa\u00edses e coordinada desde maio de 2017 pola investigadora do IGFAE e profesora da USC Dolores Cortina. O seu grupo liderou entre 2005 e 2017 o dese\u00f1o e construci\u00f3n do seu detector, CALIFA <em>(CALorimeter for In-Flight detection of gamma- rays and high energy charged pArticles),<\/em> un <strong>novo calor\u00edmetro <\/strong>capaz de detectar simultaneamente part\u00edculas cargadas e radiaci\u00f3n gamma, cubrindo un rango enerx\u00e9tico sen precedentes: dos kiloelectr\u00f3nvoltios (KeV) \u00e1s centenas de megaelectr\u00f3nvoltios (MeV). Cabe destacar que a tecnolox\u00eda de detecci\u00f3n utilizada neste tipo de detectores, as\u00ed como as t\u00e9cnicas de reconstruci\u00f3n da informaci\u00f3n que se recada, son com\u00fans coas que se desenvolven en <strong>imaxe m\u00e9dica <\/strong>e son \u00fatiles para o diagn\u00f3stico de enfermidades.<\/p>\n<p><strong>R3B<\/strong> utilizar\u00e1 i\u00f3ns radioactivos a velocidades pr\u00f3ximas \u00e1s da luz e permitir\u00e1 desenvolver un amplo programa de investigaci\u00f3n que abordar\u00e1 cuesti\u00f3ns cruciais para a f\u00edsica nuclear, como o estudo de propiedades fundamentais dos n\u00facleos at\u00f3micos e da forza responsable de unir os protones e neutr\u00f3ns que os forman, ademais de <strong>reproducir as reacci\u00f3ns que te\u00f1en lugar nas estrelas<\/strong>, responsables de xerar a s\u00faa enerx\u00eda e crear os elementos que vemos no Universo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Un \u201cCALIFA\u201d moi galego<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Na construci\u00f3n de CALIFA, cuxo custo supera os 3,5 mill\u00f3ns de euros na s\u00faa primeira fase (22% dos cales foron financiados con fondos captados por este equipo) e m\u00e1is de 5 mill\u00f3ns de euros en total, participou persoal investigador de Alema\u00f1a, Suecia e Rusia. Dentro de Espa\u00f1a, <strong>a contribuci\u00f3n galega foi notable.<\/strong> Desde 2005, o IGFAE colabora co <a href=\"http:\/\/cima.uvigo.es\/\">grupo CIMA de enxe\u00f1er\u00eda mec\u00e1nica da Universidade de Vigo<\/a>, quen foi art\u00edfice do dese\u00f1o da estrutura mec\u00e1nica do detector. Ademais, empresas galegas especializadas encarg\u00e1ronse da fabricaci\u00f3n de fibra de carbono, mecanizado de precisi\u00f3n e metrolox\u00eda. O outro grupo espa\u00f1ol de CALIFA \u00e9 do <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iem.csic.es\/\">Instituto de Estrutura de la Materia (IEM-CSIC)<\/a>, centrado en desenvolver os centelladores innovadores da parte frontal do detector que recibir\u00e1n unha enorme cantidade de radiaci\u00f3n e onde a resoluci\u00f3n en enerx\u00eda xoga un papel moi importante.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fair-center.eu\/index.php?id=1\">FAIR<\/a> <em>(Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research)<\/em> \u00e9 un novo centro de investigaci\u00f3n internacional prioritario para a Comisi\u00f3n Europea, inclu\u00eddo na <a href=\"http:\/\/roadmap2018.esfri.eu\/projects-and-landmarks\/browse-the-catalogue\/fair\/\">folla de ruta ESFRI 2018<\/a> que identifica as instalaci\u00f3ns cient\u00edficas prioritarias de interese paneuropeo. Un consorcio internacional contrib\u00fae a financiar os 1.500 mill\u00f3ns de euros que custar\u00e1 este laboratorio equipado cos m\u00e1is potentes aceleradores de antiprotones e i\u00f3ns pesados do mundo. Al\u00ed, m\u00e1is de 3.000 persoas de 50 pa\u00edses estudar\u00e1n a estrutura e propiedades da materia visible que forma o Universo, desenvolvendo labores de investigaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica e aplicada no campo da f\u00edsica nuclear.
