Este reco\u00f1ecemento, entregado no marco da XXXVII Reuni\u00f3n Bienal da RSEF, distingue aos traballos m\u00e1is sobresalientes defendidos nas universidades espa\u00f1olas durante o 2018 e s\u00famase \u00e1 brillante traxectoria deste mozo investigador.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Premio de excelencia acad\u00e9mica da Xunta de Galicia antes de comezar o grao en F\u00edsica, mellor expediente da s\u00faa promoci\u00f3n, de todo o sistema universitario galego nesta carreira e do M\u00e1ster en F\u00edsica Nuclear e Part\u00edculas e as s\u00faas Aplicaci\u00f3ns Tecnol\u00f3xicas e M\u00e9dicas da USC. Tras realizar a s\u00faa tese doutoral no IGFAE, cunha axuda FPU do Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovaci\u00f3n e Universidades que inclu\u00edu estad\u00edas no CERN, Juli\u00e1n Garc\u00eda Pardi\u00f1as recibiu o xoves outro novo reco\u00f1ecemento: o premio \u00e1 mellor tese de F\u00edsica Experimental da Divisi\u00f3n de F\u00edsica Te\u00f3rica e de Part\u00edculas (DFTP) da Real Sociedade Espa\u00f1ola de F\u00edsica (RSEF).<\/p>\n<p>Na cerimonia de entrega celebrada na XXXVIII Reuni\u00f3n Bienal da RSEF a semana pasada, o presidente da DFTP, Antonio Dobado Gonz\u00e1lez, e o presidente de RSEF, Jos\u00e9 Adolfo de Azc\u00e1rraga Feliu, encomiaron a calidade do traballo presentado por este mozo investigador e salientaron que este novo premio pretende ser un aliciente de calidade para o alumnado de doutoramento deste campo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An\u00e1lise do sabor dos mes\u00f3ns B co LHCb<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O Modelo Est\u00e1ndar (ME) da F\u00edsica de Part\u00edculas \u00e9 a teor\u00eda que mellor explica como interactuan as part\u00edculas que forman a materia, gobernadas polas forzas elementais da natureza: forza nuclear d\u00e9bil, forza nuclear forte e electromagnetismo. Con todo, o ME deixa cuesti\u00f3ns importantes sen resolver. Un dos interrogantes \u00e9 a chamada estrutura de sabor, unha propiedade dos fermiones \u2014quarks e lept\u00f3ns- que determina a s\u00faa organizaci\u00f3n en tres familias e como se relacionan. Varios modelos de Nova F\u00edsica (NF) pred\u00edn modificaci\u00f3ns na estrutura de sabor e desviaci\u00f3ns respecto do esperado en certos procesos subat\u00f3micos. A tese de Juli\u00e1n, dirixida polos investigadores do IGFAE e profesores da USC M\u00e1ximo Pl\u00f3 e Juan Jos\u00e9 Saborido, buscou po\u00f1er a proba esta propiedade utilizando medidas do experimento LHCb do CERN, onde chocan prot\u00f3ns a velocidades pr\u00f3ximas \u00e1 da luz, para observar o decaemento de mes\u00f3ns B e atopar esa nova f\u00edsica capaz de dar as respostas que faltan, por exemplo, sobre a asimetr\u00eda observada entre materia e antimateria.<\/p>\n<p>Os retos principais da tese foron realizar con \u00e9xito un novo tipo de medida moi complexa e levar a cabo d\u00faas an\u00e1lises moi diferentes. No resultado da primeira an\u00e1lise, relacionado coa devandita asimetr\u00eda entre materia e antimateria, non se atoparon desviaci\u00f3ns significativas respecto das do Modelo Est\u00e1ndar, pero desenvolv\u00e9ronse novas ferramentas \u2014como o procesamento dos datos en tarxetas gr\u00e1ficas GPUs- que ser\u00e1n utilizadas para futuras an\u00e1lises do LHCb. Respecto da segunda an\u00e1lise, centrada nas chamadas anomal\u00edas de sabor entre tau\u00f3ns e mu\u00f3ns, sentouse a base para este tipo de medida, consegu\u00edronse resultados preliminares e dese\u00f1ouse o plan para realizar a medida final no futuro.
