{"id":22079,"date":"2026-01-14T12:48:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T11:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/igfae\/?p=22079"},"modified":"2026-01-14T14:03:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T13:03:11","slug":"quantum-computing-lab-igfae-cesga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/igfae\/quantum-computing-lab-igfae-cesga\/","title":{"rendered":"O IGFAE e o CESGA impulsan o Quantum Computing Lab, un novo paso adiante de Galicia en ciencia e tecnolox\u00eda cu\u00e1nticas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A sede do IGFAE acolleu este m\u00e9rcores 14 de xaneiro a sinatura do convenio para a creaci\u00f3n do IGFAE-CESGA Quantum Computing Lab, unha nova unidade conxunta de investigaci\u00f3n en tecnolox\u00edas cu\u00e1nticas aplicadas \u00e1 f\u00edsica de part\u00edculas e nuclear.<\/p>\n<p>Con este acordo, o IGFAE e o Centro de Supercomputaci\u00f3n de Galicia (CESGA) reforzan, como centros de referencia nos seus respectivos campos de traballo, a s\u00faa alianza estrat\u00e9xica na investigaci\u00f3n e o desenvolvemento da computaci\u00f3n cu\u00e1ntica, e redobran a aposta de Galicia por esta disciplina e as s\u00faas aplicaci\u00f3ns a diversos \u00e1mbitos da f\u00edsica. O proxecto conta cun investimento de 2,2 mill\u00f3ns de euros, cofinanciados polo PERTE Chip e fondos propios da Conseller\u00eda de Educaci\u00f3n, Ciencia, Universidade e FP da Xunta de Galicia, as\u00ed como financiamento do propio IGFAE.<\/p>\n<p>Asinaron o acordo, en nome das partes, Antonio L\u00f3pez D\u00edaz, reitor da USC, e Rom\u00e1n Rodr\u00edguez Gonz\u00e1lez, conselleiro de Educaci\u00f3n, Ciencia, Universidades e Formaci\u00f3n Profesional da Xunta de Galicia. Tam\u00e9n participaron no acto Carmen Cotelo Queijo, directora da Axencia Galega de Innovaci\u00f3n (GAIN), o director do IGFAE, Carlos A. Salgado L\u00f3pez, e o director cient\u00edfico do CESGA, Lois Orosa Nogueira.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Un simulador cu\u00e1ntico \u00fanico en Espa\u00f1a<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O Quantum Computing Lab, que se instalar\u00e1 na sede do IGFAE no Campus Sur da USC, combinar\u00e1 a capacidade te\u00f3rica, experimental e de instrumentaci\u00f3n do IGFAE coa infraestrutura de computaci\u00f3n do CESGA. Centrarase na simulaci\u00f3n cu\u00e1ntica de procesos de grande interese na f\u00edsica de part\u00edculas e nuclear, con tecnolox\u00edas como as trampas de i\u00f3ns ou os \u00e1tomos fr\u00edos.<\/p>\n<p>Tr\u00e1tase dunha instalaci\u00f3n que pode funcionar como simulador e como computador, permitindo manipular un sistema cu\u00e1ntico an\u00e1logo ao que se quere estudar. Ser\u00e1, neste momento, o \u00fanico en Espa\u00f1a destas caracter\u00edsticas no \u00e1mbito da f\u00edsica nuclear e de part\u00edculas. Foto: IGFAE.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Investigaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica para futuras aplicaci\u00f3ns sociais<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A f\u00edsica de part\u00edculas e nuclear foi, tradicionalmente, un excelente banco de probas para o desenvolvemento de tecnolox\u00edas emerxentes que acaban tendo un profundo impacto social (imaxe m\u00e9dica, sensores, world-wide web, computaci\u00f3n distribu\u00edda, algoritmos de intelixencia artificial, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>Os procesos que ocorren dentro do n\u00facleo at\u00f3mico ou en escalas a\u00ednda m\u00e1is pequenas, propias da f\u00edsica de part\u00edculas, est\u00e1n dominados por efectos cu\u00e1nticos que a computaci\u00f3n tradicional, en xeral, non pode reproducir. Os computadores cu\u00e1nticos, en cambio, implementan coherencia ou entrelazamento cu\u00e1ntico de forma natural. O novo laboratorio IGFAE-CESGA permitir\u00e1 crear simulaci\u00f3ns innovadoras para estudar estes fen\u00f3menos f\u00edsicos, abrindo a porta a avances que pronto se aplicar\u00e1n noutros \u00e1mbitos cient\u00edficos e tecnol\u00f3xicos.<\/p>\n<p>Entre outras oportunidades, as tecnolox\u00edas cu\u00e1nticas permiten realizar simulaci\u00f3ns para co\u00f1ecer mellor a estrutura do n\u00facleo at\u00f3mico, especialmente en casos ex\u00f3ticos onde se manifestan fen\u00f3menos de coherencia cu\u00e1ntica (a superposici\u00f3n de dous ou m\u00e1is estados).<\/p>\n<p>Ademais, estes sistemas axudan a estudar con moita maior precisi\u00f3n o plasma de quarks e gluons, un estado primixenio da materia xerado unhas millon\u00e9simas de segundos despois do Big Bang, e que hoxe se recrea, a trav\u00e9s de colisi\u00f3ns entre part\u00edculas, en aceleradores como o Large Hadron Collider (LHC) do CERN.<\/p>\n<p>Por outra banda, o Quantum Computing Lab tam\u00e9n afondar\u00e1 na an\u00e1lise da influencia de perturbaci\u00f3ns externas, como a radiaci\u00f3n c\u00f3smica, no funcionamento dos dispositivos cu\u00e1nticos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aposta por novas infraestruturas e persoal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Esta nova unidade conxunta de investigaci\u00f3n dispor\u00e1 nas instalaci\u00f3ns do IGFAE dun espazo de 60 m2 para un laboratorio de informaci\u00f3n cu\u00e1ntica e de Quantum Cosmics, reforzado polas prestaci\u00f3ns doutras infraestruturas do IGFAE, como a sala branca (110 m2), laboratorios de microelectr\u00f3nica, detectores gasosos ou escintiladores, e salas de micromecanizado, metrolox\u00eda ou irradiaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Igualmente, o proxecto incl\u00fae o financiamento de persoal cient\u00edfico e t\u00e9cnico, tanto con contratos xa existentes como de nova creaci\u00f3n, para impulsar o desenvolvemento das li\u00f1as de traballo previstas. O equipo do IGFAE implicado na posta en marcha do Quantum Computing Lab est\u00e1 composto por Yassid Ayyad, Cristina Cabo, H\u00e9ctor \u00c1lvarez, Wenyang Qian, David Gonz\u00e1lez e Carolina Filgueira.
