O encontro, que se celebrou na Facultade de F\u00edsica da USC, foi escenario, ademais, da demostraci\u00f3n pr\u00e1ctica da nova xeraci\u00f3n do detector miniTrasgo.<\/p>\n<p>Hai uns anos, o grupo LabCAF, coordinado polo investigador do IGFAE Juan A. Garz\u00f3n Heydt, comezou a desenvolver unha nova xeraci\u00f3n de detectores, denominados Trasgos, para o estudo permanente dos raios c\u00f3smicos mediante dispositivos instalados en terra.<\/p>\n<p>A diferenza das t\u00e9cnicas existentes, baseadas principalmente na medida de neutr\u00f3ns e muones, eses dispositivos ofrecen, entre outras caracter\u00edsticas, unha gran granularidade que lles permite de maneira simult\u00e1nea moitas part\u00edculas, a capacidade de separar mu\u00f3ns e electr\u00f3ns mediante t\u00e9cnicas de software e unha estimaci\u00f3n da enerx\u00eda electromagn\u00e9tica depositada no detector.<\/p>\n<p>Ata o de agora constru\u00edronse catro Trasgos, dedicados a diferentes \u00e1reas de investigaci\u00f3n, como o estudo da actividade solar, a muograf\u00eda de contedores e a diversos estudos geomagn\u00e9ticos e atmosf\u00e9ricos. A nova xeraci\u00f3n de detectores, presentada na reuni\u00f3n de Santiago por Juan A.
