O podio comp\u00e1rteno con outros dous equipos da Elsewedy Technical Academy no Cairo (Exipto) e da \u00c9cole du Sacr\u00e9-Coeur en Reims (Francia) cuxos experimentos tam\u00e9n foron seleccionados.<\/p>\n<p>O premio para os estudantes espa\u00f1ois e exipcios \u00e9 unha viaxe ao CERN e para o equipo franc\u00e9s ao Sincrotr\u00f3n Alem\u00e1n de Electr\u00f3ns DESY (Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron) no outono de 2022 para realizar os experimentos premiados co apoio de cient\u00edficos dos dous laboratorios.<\/p>\n<p>O equipo do <a href=\"http:\/\/fermiclub.blogspot.com\/\">Club de F\u00edsica Enrico Fermi<\/a> ten a intenci\u00f3n de estudar a carga inducida polo paso de part\u00edculas cargadas ultrarrelativistas nunha clase de detectores de gas chamados c\u00e1maras de placa resistiva multigap (MRPC). Est\u00e1n interesados na relaci\u00f3n entre a carga producida no detector, a masa das part\u00edculas e o \u00e1ngulo entre o feixe de part\u00edculas e o plano do detector.<\/p>\n<p>O proxecto espa\u00f1ol ga\u00f1ador tit\u00falase <em>Study of charge inducedy by relativistic particles of different masses in MRPC detectors<\/em>. A proposta xurdiu do investigador do IGFAE Juan Pablo Garz\u00f3n, en colaboraci\u00f3n con Pablo Garc\u00eda do CIEMAT de Madrid, a axuda de Georgy Kornakov da Universidade T\u00e9cnica de Varsovia, e de Alberto Blanco do LIP de Coimbra; estes dous \u00faltimos, colaboradores habituais do grupo de investigaci\u00f3n LabCAF de Garz\u00f3n no proxecto Trasgo. \u201cA proposta experimental que fixemos \u2012explica este investigador\u2012 pretende estudar con detalle un efecto an\u00f3malo que observou Georgy na s\u00faa tese doutoral, que fixo na USC baixo a mi\u00f1a direcci\u00f3n e que defendeu en 2012. Parece que nos detectores tipo RPC (<em>Resistive Plate Chamber<\/em>) a carga inducida polas part\u00edculas cargadas de moi alta enerx\u00eda que atravesan o detector depende da s\u00faa masa, efecto nunca visto anteriormente. De confirmarse, poder\u00eda permitir o desenvolvemento de detectores sensibles \u00e1 masa das part\u00edculas o que ser\u00eda algo revolucionario\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>E \u00e9 que, a\u00ednda que sexa un concurso para estudantes de bacharelato e de secundaria, o premio \u00e9 moi importante. En palabras de Garz\u00f3n, \u201cdispo\u00f1er dun feixe do CERN de acordo con as nosas necesidades para realizar nosa propia proposta experimental \u00e9 un verdadeiro luxo. Cabe destacar que os aceleradores do CERN s\u00f3 funcionan durante certos per\u00edodos do ano e que, en xeral, hai moitos grupos de investigaci\u00f3n facendo cola para realizar os seus experimentos\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>O equipo de Exipto, o primeiro pa\u00eds de Medio Oriente en ga\u00f1ar este concurso tam\u00e9n traballar\u00e1 en MRPC, pero centr\u00e1ndose nun fen\u00f3meno diferente. Analizar\u00e1n a eficiencia de detecci\u00f3n dos MRPC cando se substit\u00faa o gas que habitualmente utilizan estes detectores por un m\u00e1is respectuoso co medio ambiente.<\/p>\n<p>O equipo de Francia decidiu probar unha innovadora t\u00e9cnica de detecci\u00f3n de part\u00edculas que se basea na transici\u00f3n de fase entre auga l\u00edquida e s\u00f3lida. Inspir\u00e1ndose no principio de detecci\u00f3n utilizado nas c\u00e1maras de nubes e burbullas, os estudantes investigar\u00e1n en Hamburgo a eficiencia de detecci\u00f3n da auga en estado sobreenfriado, onde o paso de part\u00edculas altamente enerx\u00e9ticas poder\u00eda inducir unha transici\u00f3n de fase de l\u00edquido a s\u00f3lido.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Concurso de f\u00edsica aberta a estudantes de secundaria de todo o mundo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Beamline for Schools (BL4S)<\/em> \u00e9 un concurso de f\u00edsica aberta a estudantes de secundaria de todo o mundo. Conv\u00eddase os participantes a enviar as s\u00faas propostas para un experimento que utilice unha li\u00f1a de luz.<\/p>\n<p>As li\u00f1as de luz son instalaci\u00f3ns que proporcionan fluxos de part\u00edculas subat\u00f3micas que os cient\u00edficos utilizan para realizar experimentos en diferentes campos que abarcan a f\u00edsica fundamental, a medicina e a ciencia dos materiais. Operar unha li\u00f1a de luz require aceleradores de part\u00edculas como os que se executan en CERN e DESY.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M\u00e1is de 14.000 estudantes de todo o mundo desde 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Beamline for Schools<\/em> lanzouse en 2014 para celebrar o 60.\u00ba aniversario do CERN e, desde ent\u00f3n, participaron m\u00e1is de 14.000 estudantes de todo o mundo. O n\u00famero de propostas presentadas ao concurso foi crecendo de forma constante nos \u00faltimos anos, e esta edici\u00f3n contou coa participaci\u00f3n de 304 equipos representando a 71 pa\u00edses.<\/p>\n<p>Este ano, por primeira vez desde o inicio do concurso, tres equipos de secundaria ter\u00e1n a oportunidade de realizar os seus experimentos no CERN e en DESY. Un comit\u00e9 de cient\u00edficos do de ambos os centros avaliou coidadosamente as propostas de experimentos e preseleccionou a 25 equipos, de entre os cales se seleccionaron os ga\u00f1adores.<\/p>\n<p>Ademais, un equipo ga\u00f1ou o premio \u00e1 proposta de v\u00eddeo m\u00e1is creativa e seis equipos m\u00e1is foron reco\u00f1ecidos pola calidade das actividades de divulgaci\u00f3n que organizaron nas s\u00faas comunidades locais, aproveitando o que estaban a aprender a trav\u00e9s da s\u00faa participaci\u00f3n no concurso.<\/p>\n<p>Segundo o CERN, a calidade das propostas ga\u00f1adoras demostra que, co apoio adecuado, os estudantes de secundaria poden abordar temas de f\u00edsica moderna e desenvolver un plan de investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><em>Beamline for Schools<\/em> \u00e9 un proxecto educativo e de divulgaci\u00f3n financiado por CERN &amp; Society Foundation e apoiado por doantes individuais, fundaci\u00f3ns e empresas.
