The Galician Institute for High Energy Physics (IGFAE) at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC) has an opening for one postdoctoral research position to work on the LHCb experiment.

Applicants must have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in particle physics, and be experienced in software and data analysis. The initial appointment will be for ~1.5 years, with potential extensions. The successful candidate is expected to play a leading role in the study of Stealth physics at LHCb, as well as to work on the High-Level Trigger of LHCb for Run 3.

The postdoc should also carry out usual duties of LHCb members, related to LHCb operation and analyses reviews.

The salary will be similar to a Spanish postdoctoral fellowship “Juan de la Cierva”.

Desirable experience and skills

  • Knowledge of LHCb software.
  • Experience in LHC searches and trigger.
  • Ability to work with students.

The expected starting date for the positions is around November 2020.
