Probing Extreme Phenomena using Multi-dimensional General-relativistic Electro-magneto-hydrodynamics Simulations
Seminar

Astrophysical scenarios involving neutron stars and black holes such as core-collapse supernovae and mergers of compact objects are important phenomena in multi-messenger astrophysics. These phenomena are usually highly relativistic and require multiple branches of physics on various timescales and length scales. We present Gmunu, our new parallelized, block-grid adaptive, multi-dimensional general relativistic electro-magneto-hydrodynamics code in curvilinear geometries with dynamical spacetimes. Furthermore, we present challenging applications of this code by simulating the oscillation of neutron stars under various circumstances.
