El an\u00e1lisis, llevado a cabo por Juan Lois Fuentes, estudiante de doctorado egresado del IGFAE, fue supervisado por Beatriz Fern\u00e1ndez Dom\u00ednguez, y cont\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n con la participaci\u00f3n de Manuel Caama\u00f1o Fresco, ambos investigadores del IGFAE y profesores de la Facultad de F\u00edsica de la USC. El trabajo liderado por el IGFAE, en el que tambi\u00e9n participaron el LPC de Caen (Francia), la Universidad de Surrey (Reino Unido) y personal de GANIL, fue <a href=\"https:\/\/linkprotect.cudasvc.com\/url?a=https%3a%2f%2fwww.ganil-spiral2.eu%2fwp-content%2fuploads%2f2025%2f07%2fGANIL_Newsletter_july_2025.pdf&amp;c=E,1,Y5SsCJYBYp4IKSJ7qEizqt_NEzHPq2Ylm3UAlX7Zz4rSNp3WVoUdZYv5hz09B87DP0TKQDdMfZuUv1yBtvlJkR8D921sa8ZAsCA58mLxzosifYK31RMtyshsIw,,&amp;typo=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">destacado recientemente en el bolet\u00edn informativo de GANIL,<\/a> &#8220;lo que supone un importante reconocimiento de la relevancia cient\u00edfica del proyecto&#8221;, destacan el equipo gallego.<\/p>\n<p>Tal y como explican, &#8220;los n\u00facleos ex\u00f3ticos, como el 22C, act\u00faan como &#8216;laboratorios de extremos&#8217;, revelando c\u00f3mo se comporta la materia en condiciones que no se pueden reproducir en la Tierra&#8221;. Esto permite estudiar las fuerzas que unen los n\u00facleos at\u00f3micos y descubrir c\u00f3mo se forman los elementos de nuestro universo. Sin embargo, la exploraci\u00f3n directa del <sup>22<\/sup>C, mediante reacciones de transferencia de un solo neutr\u00f3n sigue estando fuera del alcance de las instalaciones actuales. Pero s\u00ed es posible mejorar el conocimiento de este is\u00f3topo mediante lo estudio de la evoluci\u00f3n de la estructura de la capa nuclear en is\u00f3topos m\u00e1s ligeros, como el <sup>17<\/sup>C, De este modo, se perfeccionan los modelos nucleares y se ahonda en nuestra comprensi\u00f3n de por que algunos n\u00facleos ex\u00f3ticos permanecen unidos, desarrollan halos o desaparecen por completo.<\/p>\n<p>En este trabajo en concreto, se investig\u00f3 la capa N=16 en los is\u00f3topos de carbono mediante el examen de la estructura del \u00b9\u2077C, un primo m\u00e1s ligero del \u00b2\u00b2C. Utilizando el espectr\u00f3metro LISE de GANIL, el equipo produjo estados excitados del \u00b9\u2077C mediante la reacci\u00f3n de transferencia de neutrones (d,p), con un blanco de deuterio. El an\u00e1lisis realizado por Juan Lois Fuentes revel\u00f3 que la capa energ\u00e9tica N=16 persiste incluso en condiciones de desequilibrio extremo entre neutrones y protones, lo que desaf\u00eda las predicciones te\u00f3ricas actuales. El siguiente paso es investigar el \u00b2\u00b2C utilizando nuevos montajes experimentales y teor\u00edas exquisitas.
