De este modo, bajo el paraguas de <a href=\"https:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/project\/id\/101131928\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>ACME<\/strong> (acr\u00f3nimo en ingl\u00e9s do \u2018Centro de Astrof\u00edsica para Estudos Multimensajero en Europa\u2019),<\/a> se facilitar\u00e1 el acceso e intercambio de informaci\u00f3n respecto a infraestructuras de investigaci\u00f3n, instrumentos, datos y conocimiento cient\u00edfico.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>El IGFAE, en la nueva era de la astronom\u00eda de multimensajeros<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>El IGFAE, centro mixto de la Universidade de Santiago de Compostela y la Xunta de Galicia, se suma a este proyecto a trav\u00e9s de su participaci\u00f3n en el <a href=\"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/igfae-copia\/es\/experimentos\/auger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Observatorio Pierre Auger<\/a>. Esta enorme instalaci\u00f3n, compuesta por m\u00e1s de 1.600 detectores ubicados en un \u00e1rea de 3.000 km2 en una llanura de la provincia de Mendoza (Argentina), es la mayor y m\u00e1s precisa infraestructura dise\u00f1ada para estudiar los rayos c\u00f3smicos de energ\u00eda ultra-alta, unas de las part\u00edculas m\u00e1s energ\u00e9ticas del universo. El investigador Enrique Zas, que forma parte de ACME y del equipo del IGFAE en el Observatorio Pierre Auger, apunta: \u201cSomos responsables de los eventos de \u2018multimensajeros\u2019, en los que se combina la sensibilidad de Pierre Auger en la detecci\u00f3n de rayos c\u00f3smicos, neutrinos y fotones con los datos de otros observatorios para estudiar objetos astrof\u00edsicos y eventos c\u00f3smicos de una nueva forma\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Ante la revoluci\u00f3n que est\u00e1 experimentando la observaci\u00f3n del cosmos, la astronom\u00eda de multimensajeros -en la que se centra el proyecto ACME- est\u00e1 abriendo una nueva ventana para observar el universo. Gracias al avance tecnol\u00f3gico de los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, hoy es posible observar un mismo evento c\u00f3smico con diferentes se\u00f1ales, o mensajeros, como la radiaci\u00f3n electromagn\u00e9tica, las ondas gravitacionales y las emisiones de neutrinos o rayos c\u00f3smicos. Esta informaci\u00f3n complementaria ayuda a entender los complejos mecanismos de alta energ\u00eda que tienen lugar en estos eventos.<\/p>\n<p>En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, a trav\u00e9s de su \u00e1rea de investigaci\u00f3n en Part\u00edculas C\u00f3smicas y F\u00edsica Fundamental, el IGFAE ha asumido tareas de responsabilidad en proyectos como el Observatorio Pierre Auger (donde el investigador Lorenzo Caz\u00f3n es coordinador cient\u00edfico y Jaime Alvarez-Mu\u00f1iz es responsable de la detecci\u00f3n de neutrinos y fotones). En este proyecto, financiado con 15 millones de euros, participan 40 instituciones de referencia en 15 pa\u00edses, con el fin de reforzar la colaboraci\u00f3n a diferentes niveles, para obtener as\u00ed una mejor identificaci\u00f3n de los posibles eventos astrof\u00edsicos y optimizar su observaci\u00f3n y seguimiento. De esta forma se llevan a la pr\u00e1ctica las recomendaciones de las hojas de ruta del Consorcio Europeo de F\u00edsica de Astropart\u00edculas (APPEC) y de la Red de Planificaci\u00f3n y Asesoramiento para la Astronom\u00eda Europea (ASTRONET).<\/p>\n<p>ACME est\u00e1 coordinado desde el Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), de Francia, dirigido por el Prof. Antoine Kouchner (CNRS) y codirigido por Paolo D\u2019Avanzo, del Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (INAF) de Italia.
