The headquarters of the IGFAE received, on the morning of Wednesday, April 22, the visit of the members of the plenary session of the Red I+D+I Policy Network, gathered at the Cidade da Cultura in Santiago de Compostela, in a meeting organized in collaboration with the Axencia Galega de Innovaci\u00f3n. This network acts as a link between the regional governments and the General State Administration in Spain, in order to collaborate in the mobilization of resources and access to European funding in the field of research, development, and innovation. This network is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which also provides funding for the CIGUS network of centers of the Xunta de Galicia, to which the IGFAE belongs. <\/p>\n
The delegation was composed of representatives from entities such as the State Research Agency (AEI), the Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI), the Ministries of Science and Innovation and of Finance, as well as members of research agencies and governments of the autonomous communities, among other organizations.<\/p>\n
The visit was led by the director of the IGFAE, Carlos A. Salgado, the deputy director, Abraham Gallas, as well as by the institute\u2019s researchers and research technicians, who showcased the new experimental spaces of the IGFAE, expanded after the renovation of the facilities carried out in recent years. In this way, the contributions of the IGFAE to large experimental facilities, such as the LHC at CERN, were presented, as well as the transfer of knowledge and technology to society and industry, with examples such as the spin-off company Neutron Insights.<\/a> <\/p>\n In the Wednesday morning, the plenary of the Red I+D+I also visited the Centre for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CiMUS) of the USC, the other Galician center accredited as a Mar\u00eda de Maeztu Unit of Excellence, which is also part of the CIGUS network of the Xunta de Galicia.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
