Through this call, and during the coming months, the selected people will be able to begin their research career in the Institute\u2019s facilities, with a scientific tutor assigned by the IGFAE. These contracts allow access to advanced training, with the vision of continuing the research career with a doctoral thesis.<\/p>\n<p>The work carried out within the framework of this training will contribute to the scientific areas in which the IGFAE is an international reference, integrating into the daily work of some of the main experimental facilities and theoretical physics collaborations in the areas of High Energy Physics and Nuclear Physics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application deadline<\/strong>: until Tuesday, April 22, 2025<\/p>\n<p><strong>More information<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/igfae\/en\/oferta\/public-competition-igfae-2025-05\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/igfae.usc.es\/igfae\/en\/oferta\/public-competition-igfae-2025-05\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>About IGFAE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u269b\ufe0f Instituto Galego de F\u00edsica de Altas Enerx\u00edas (IGFAE) \ud83d\udca5\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EGqhPkn8OFo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Instituto Galego de F\u00edsica de Altas Enerx\u00edas (IGFAE) at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC) is a research institute accredited as Mar\u00eda de Maeztu Unit of Excellence by the Spanish Ministry of Science in the periods 2017-2021 and 2024-2030. The IGFAE also takes part in the Xunta de Galicia&#8217;s CIGUS network of centres of excellence, which accredits the quality and impact of its research, and it\u00a0 is co-financed by the European Union through the Galicia Feder 2021-2027 Program. It hosts around 130 researchers, including more than 20 postdocs and 50 PhD students. Researchers at IGFAE participate in experimental facilities such as CERN, LIGO, GSI\/FAIR, GANIL, FRIB and the Pierre Auger Observatory. IGFAE has strong programs in both experimental and theoretical physics.<\/p>\n<p>The scientific research of the Institute is organized around three areas that are the basis for the strategic planning: The Standard Model to the Limits; Cosmic Particles and Fundamental Physics; and Nuclear Physics from the Lab to Improve People\u2019s Health.<\/p>\n<p>IGFAE provides a highly stimulating environment and unique professional career development opportunities.
