The Instituto Galego de F\u00edsica de Altas Enerx\u00edas (IGFAE) at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela announces a new edition of its international recruitment programme Global Talent.<\/strong> This call, which is launched worldwide, aims to attract to Santiago de Compostela (Galicia, NW Spain) people working in the research areas developed at the Institute.<\/p>\n

With this announcement, the Institute invites researchers (PhD students, postdocs and juniors) to apply to start working at the centre in 2025. A selection committee, composed of IGFAE staff and external members, will evaluate the applications received over the coming months.<\/p>\n

The search encompasses a broad range of fields, both theory and experiment, including High-Energy Particle Physics, Astroparticle Physics and Cosmology; and Nuclear Physics, as well as Quantum Information Science and Technology.<\/p>\n

Global Talent is the main recruitment programme linked to the Mar\u00eda de Maeztu accreditation of excellence, awarded by the Spanish State Research Agency, which the IGFAE obtained in 2024. In the previous call, which received hundreds of proposals from dozens of countries, this plan allowed, among other milestones, to promote a new research programme on Gravitational Waves and facilitated the participation of the IGFAE in the LIGO collaboration.<\/p>\n

The research positions are at assistant professor level. The Global Talent program aims to attract and support\u00a0outstanding advanced postdoctoral researchers<\/strong>, providing resources to develop an independent research program within the institute, including discretionary annual research funds. Now in its third edition, the program has a proven track record: while the positions are not tenure-track, all previous fellows have subsequently secured tenure-track contracts at the university.<\/p>\n

The institute encourages proposals that introduce new research lines, complementing its existing strengths.<\/p>\n

These three-year positions include additional research funds, training, and opportunities to supervise PhD students and postdocs. IGFAE will encourage and provide support to successful candidates to apply to ERC grants and Ramon y Cajal tenure-track programs.<\/p>\n
