Dear Nestor, dear conveners,

sorry for bothering you one day after the closing deadline for abstracts. I've had some big family problems lately, and I lost track of the DIS abstract deadline. My bad ...

I was wondering whether you could be kind enough to accept two more abstract submissions, one from me and one from my PostDoc student Andrea Simonelli, on some recent work we have done. We would like to submit them to the spin physics and 3D structure working group  WG5.

Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation

Best regards

Title: Phenomenological extraction of TMD fragmentation functions from recent BELLE data

A new formalism for the factorization of the cross section for single hadron production in e+e- annihilations is applied to the phenomenological analysis of data recently measured by the BELLE Collaboration. While performing a NLO - NNL perturbative calculation of the perturbative part of the process, we examine and thoroughly discuss the suitability of a number of possible ansatz to model the non-perturbative part of this universal TMD fragmentation function, showing the extent to which present experimental data can actually constrain its shape and functional form in terms of z_h, P_T and thrust.

Title: Thrust resummation and rapidity divergencies

Extending TMD factorization to thrust-dependent observables entails difficulties ultimately associated with the behavior of soft radiation. As a consequence, the definition of the TMDs has to be revised, while keeping (and extending) its universality properties. Moreover, the regularization of the rapidity divergences intertwines with the thrust dependence, leading to a new kind of factorization theorem, with unexpected features. In this talk, I will show how to properly factorize the thrust distribution of e+e- annihilation into a single hadron, whose transverse momentum is measured with respect to the thrust axis. The cross section is presented at NLL-accuracy both in thrust and in transverse momentum.

Dear colleagues,

The registration for DIS2022: XXIX International Workshop on Deep-Inelastic Scattering and Related Subjects, to be held in Santiago de Compostela, May 2nd-6th 2022, is opened. Please find the details of registration, refund, student support, travel and accommodation and COVID-related issues, in https://indico.cern.ch/event/1072533/.

We plan to hold the conference in person. The registration fee is 430 EUR before March 22th 2022, and 500 EUR thereafter. Those who cannot attend in person because their institutions or countries do not allow the travel, because they do not comply with the COVID-related requirements to enter Spain, or because of medical reasons, are invited to contact us at dis2022-registration@igfae.usc.es.

If the conference has to be moved online due to unforeseen circumstances, a refund (minus bank transfer expenses) down to a smaller online fee will be done.

Note also that the deadline for abstract submission has been extended to February 20th 23:59 CET.

Please inform those colleagues who may not receive this email.

Best regards

Nestor Armesto for the LPC

P.S. We apologise to those who may receive this email more than once.
