Re: DIS2022 WG1 abstracts

Dear Cridge
Under the current policy in my home country, none in our collaboration is able to come to DIS2022 in person. But, things may change two months later. So let's keep in touch and I will also inform you if the situation changes.
Thank you very much for your work!

Dear Zhi Hu,
Thanks for your email and for your abstract submission as well. As it stands the organisers are pushing for a fully in-person conference so if you are not able to attend in person unfortunately it may not be possible to give the talk, would none of your collaborators be able to give the talk in person either? In any case I will forward the details of your talk to the organisers in case this changes.
Best,
Tom Cridge (for WG1)

Dear Cridge
Thank you very much for accepting our abstract. To be honest, due to the current epidemic prevention policy from our home country and institute, we are not allowed to go abroad to attend conference in the current status. But, of course we would be very happy to attend this conference and we do cherish this opportunity to give a talk in DIS2022. So, I was wondering whether there is any chance for us to present the talk online?
I apologize for the inconvenience!

Dear Cridge
Sorry for the slow reply. We are happy to merge thosw two talks. The following is the modified abstract
Transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution functions (TMD PDFs) are essential for describing elementary high-energy processes involving the hadron, such as semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering (SIDIS). Basis Light-Front Quantization (BLFQ) now provides the hadron's light-front wave functions in the leading Fock sector of three valence quarks. We report the first calculations within the BLFQ framework of the leading twist TMDs with a trivial gauge link for proton, Lambda hadron and Lambda c. We discuss the resulting TMDs and compute spin asymmetry using those TMDs. We also investigate the validities of some TMD-related relations and assumptions using our results.

Dear colleagues,
I am writing to you regarding your abstracts submitted to WG1: Structure Functions and Parton Densities at DIS2022 in Santiago de Compostela. As you may be aware, being one of the first in person conferences in a long time, we have received an extraordinary number of abstract submissions. As a result, we are writing to ask you if it might be possible to merge two of the abstracts submitted by yourselves and colleagues of yours. The abstracts we refer to are "Report on the progress of TMD calculation of the proton system within the BLFQ framework" (abstract number 153 submitted by Zhi Hu with coauthors Chandan Mondal,
James Vary, Siqi Xu and Xingbo Zhao) and "TMDs of heavy baryons" (abstract number 167 submitted by Zhi-Min Zhu with coauthors Qi Tianluo, Tiancai Peng, Siqi Xu, Chandan Mondal, James Vary and Xingbo Zhao), which we hope could be merged given the shared authors and the related topics. Please forward this message amongst your collaborators and let us know if this is would be fine for you as the authors as soon as possible and thanks in advance for your understanding. We would also ask you to confirm that a member of your collaboration would be able to attend to give the talk at Santiago in person.

Re: DIS2022 WG1 abstracts
by Pit Duwentäster
Dear Tom,
it would be great if the talks could be listed as two separate 10 minute
talks in the agenda. If that is not possible, here is a title + abstract
for the combined talk:
Constraining the nuclear gluon and strange PDFs with heavy quark
production and neutrino scattering
Nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) of gluons and strange
quarks have been the subject of many studies over the past years, since
they are important for many processes and difficult to constrain. Two
new analyses in the nCTEQ framework are presented to address these
issues. The first takes a new look at neutrino DIS data which was
previously excluded due to tensions with charged-lepton DIS and finds a
subset of data that can safely be used to constrain the strange quark.
The second analysis introduces heavy quark production data into the
global fit using a data driven approach to constrain the gluon at
x-values down to 10^-5.
Thanks,
Pit

hello Tom,
this is just to you, i need to find more details for an official answer.
essentially at the same time that your email, we at DESY got another one, from our directorate.
there is a phrase there saying:
"DESY employees will not participate in conferences co-organized by Russian or Belarusian institutes or where Russian or Belarusian speakers are announced."
i need to find out if that is relevant for DIS22, if it does have russian or belarusian speakers - i will not able to come ...
please give me sometime to investigate.
of course if you are pressed for time or answer, you can share this with other organisers.
best,
katarzyna
