Dear Marco and Keping,

Please register and indicate in the comments that you request online participation. The fee is 200 EUR for early registration (that formally ended yesterday but consider it extended for a couple of days) and 250 later, until April 25th. The fee should cover the cost of the rooms and of the technical aspects for the zoom.

Best regards

Nestor

Dear Nestor,

Myself (mguzzi@kennesaw@edu) and Keping Xie (xiekeping@pitt.edu) are kindly requesting online participation at DIS2022.
We agreed with the conveners of WG4 that the two already accepted talks ID #118 and ID#119 can in principle be given online.
Keping and I are coauthors in these two contributions and unfortunately, we are not going to make it in person at DIS2022.

We totally understand that this situation is not optimal for both the organizers and WG conveners, and that DIS2022
is challenged by the high number of online-talk requests.

We would be grateful if you could go through our request and give us instructions.

Thank you very much in advance,
Marco Guzzi and Keping Xie

Dear Marco,

Thanks for your prompt feedback. As Maria mentioned, we encourage speakers to participate the DIS2022 in person.

For the online registration, could you contact Nestor at nestor.armesto@usc.es and cc dis2022-registration@igfae.usc.es, so they could go through the request?

We have around or more than 100 online requests, it would take some time for the organizers to go through the requests.

          Thanks.

Dear Li,

Thank you for your reply.

I can present one talk online, and the other (top quark)
can be presented by one of my collaborators: Saypjamal Dulat, Alim Ablat, or Keping Xie.
I am going to check with them whether they can travel to Spain.

I tried to contact  (dis2022-registration@igfae.usc.es) a couple of times, but they have been unresponsive.
We did want to know about this online possibility and about the registration fee.

I am going to confirm the participation (online or in person) of my collaborators quickly.
Thank you.

Best regards,
Marco Guzzi

Dear Marco,

We can accept online talk. Could you contact the DIS2022 organizers (dis2022-registration@igfae.usc.es) for your online participation?

Do you have any colleagues or collaborators who could present the 2nd talk in person or online?

         Thanks.

Dear Organizers of DIS2022, and Dear Conveners of the WG4,

I haven't heard from you about my request for an online talk.
It would be highly appreciated if you could at least let me know about your decision.

Best regards,
Marco Guzzi

Dear Organizers of DIS2022, and Dear Conveners of the WG4,

Unfortunately, I am not able to attend the DIS2022 workshop in person.
The situation with COVID-19 is still uncertain, and for me,
travelling from the US poses serious challenges.

I have two accepted abstracts: ID #118 and ID#119, for two parallel talks.
Please let me know if there is any chance, I can give at least one talk remotely.
Thank you very much for your help and for your understanding.

Best regards,
Marco

Subject: [EXTERNAL] DIS 2022 Workshop - WG4: "QCD with heavy-flavours and hadronic final states"

Dear Marco,

the 29th edition of the DIS 2022 Workshop on Deep-Inelastic Scattering (DIS)
and Related Subjects is scheduled to take place May 2-6, 2022.
The abstract submission is open at:

https://indico.cern.ch/event/1072533/

where you can find further updated information concerning the event.

With this message, we would like to draw your attention to the WG4 section of
the Workshop, which is devoted to “QCD with Heavy Flavours and Hadronic Final
States”. The topics of interest for this section include, in particular:

     *  Open heavy flavour and quarkonia production, with particular
emphasis (but not limited) to the DIS case
     *  Correlation observables in heavy-flavour production
     *  Constraining parton distribution functions (PDFs) and nuclear PDFs
        with open HF / quarkonia
     *  Constraining fragmentation functions and fractions for heavy-flavoured
        mesons and baryons
     *  Accessing charm and bottom masses with DIS and other measurements
     *  Heavy-quarks on the lattice
     *  Hadronization mechanisms studies with heavy quarks
     *  Charm and bottom jets and their substructure
     *  Heavy flavour energy loss in cold and hot QCD matter
     *  Exotics

Confident that you are working on at least some of the aforementioned topics,
we warmly encourage you and your working group to consider the
possibility of submitting a related abstract for a talk and/or a poster
   in the WG4 parallel section!

Please note that the deadline for abstract submission is February 13th, 2022.

In case of any question, please feel free to contact us.

        Sincerely,

                      The WG4 Conveners:

Xuan Li (LANL), Olga Evdokimov (UI-Chicago) and Maria V. Garzelli (Uni. Hamburg)
