Jornada de presentación del nuevo centro internacional de investigación en Física Nuclear y áreas afines del GSI-Darmstadt

El pasado mes de febrero se aprobó la construcción de un nuevo centro internacional de investigación en Física Nuclear y áreas afines a partir de las actuales instalaciones del GSI (Alemania). Este nuevo centro constará de tres aceleradores (un linac y dos sincrotrones) permitiendo acelerar una gran variedad de haces de iones (estables y radioactivos) y antiprotones de gran intensidad y energías hasta 30 A GeV. Además, un conjunto de anillos colisionadores permitirán estudiar reacciones e-núcleo, (anti)p-p o (anti)p-núcleo.
Las principales lineas del programa cientifico son:
- Estructura, dinámica y astrofísica nuclear (colisiones con núcleos exóticos)
- Materia nuclear densa y caliente (colisiones entre iones pesados relativistas)
- Espectroscopia de hadrones y materia hadronica (colisiones (anti)p-p)
- Fisica atomica y de plasma (colisiones entre iones pesados y laseres de gran potencia)
- Aplicaciones: fusión inercial, estudio de materiales, radioterapia, ....
Con el fin de dar a conocer este proyecto a la comunidad científica española hemos organizado una jornada de presentación del mismo el próximo día 27 de Octubre en el Centro de Estudios Avanzados de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela.

La reunión tendrá lugar en el Centro de Estudios Avanzados de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela el próximo día 27 de Octubre. Los horarios previstos para la reunión (10:00 - 19:00) pueden permitiros a muchos de vosotros venir a Santiago únicamente durante la jornada.
